  1. Schneider is going to use the entire pen to pitch 4 innings, and he's loving every minute of it.
  2. The Rays f***ing up defensively after making a bad pitching change is beautiful.
  3. Cash did the Jays a huge favor bringing a lefty in.
  4. If Kirk isn't brought in to pinch hit for Belt......
  5. That looked like it would have gone out of play, but hard to tell with the idiot reaching for the ball. Kick him out anyway.
  6. Belt becoming my least favorite Jay already.
  7. The Rays have to lose at some point, so I'm confident the Jays win at least 1 game this weekend. Gonna be hard to predict with Berrios and Kikuchi pitching two of the games. Hell, even Manoah deserves some of that skepticism with the way he's started this season as well. Berrios did a lot better at home last season so if that trend continues then maybe he surprises us tonight.
  8. The Rays run differential counting today's game so far (leading 8-3) is +70 (100 RS/30 RA). I don't know which is more impressive, the above or the fact that there appears to be a pretty good crowd at the Trop for a Thursday afternoon game.
  9. Gausman is so good. Too bad the offense went to bed tonight.
  10. Hopefully Schneider keeps Pop in for more than 0.2 innings. He loves using the pen but the Jays need some length here.
  11. If the Tigers were a good hitting team this would be a blowout right now. Manoah's pitches are trash tonight.
  12. Jays definitely need to add a legit long reliever. Pen won't make it to July at this pace. Mitch White is needed.
  13. Can Gausman start every game? I don't think that's an unreasonable ask.
  14. Manoah knows how to silence a home crowd.
  15. Lineup for tonight: RF Springer SS Bichette 1B Vlad LF Varsho 3B Chapman DH Belt CA Kirk 2B Biggio CF Kiermaier
  16. A 6-4 road trip with the pitching aside from Gausman being as bad as it was seems like a damn miracle.
  17. Zulueta's first start this season: 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 6 K, 46 pit
  18. Yeah he has 6 years left including this season. Well, 4 years left with 2 player options after that but I don't think there's any amount of inflation that would make him turn down 2/48 in 2027. That's just a horrific contract now considering how bad he was in 2022 and how nothing seems to have changed so far this season. They'll obviously keep throwing him out there hoping he can be fixed, but I wonder how long a team with World Series aspirations playing in the AL East will keep going to him if he can't right himself. Last season he was at least half way decent in the home games so if that trend continues then we can at least look forward to that when he starts.
  19. Swanson has pitched a lot so far, and Garcia has pitched 2 games in a row. Probably should have went with Bass in that spot instead of Cimber, but for some reason Schneider thinks Cimber and Mayza are high leverage guys. Cimber's been very solid since coming to the Jays but I'm not putting a guy throwing mid 80s out there against Trout with runners on base.
  20. A groundball to SS turning into a triple doesn't happen very often. At least Bo looks like a MVP candidate with the bat.
  21. I like Stroman as well. I was actually hoping the Jays extended him a few years back. Since he came into the league he's been a top 20 SP in baseball based on WAR, and that's with missing nearly all of 2015 with an injury (which he came back from early and helped in the playoffs) and sitting out 2020. He's had a really good career.
  22. I'm sticking with my prediction that Vlad is extended at some point, but it might be something like Devers where it happens closer to his free agency. The hope of a team friendly deal has long gone. He's too close to free agency now to settle for anything less than what he perceives he's worth. If nothing else, the front office has shown that they don't mind paying FA dollars to players, so I'm sure they won't mind overpaying Vlad when the time comes as long as he's performing closer to 2021 levels.
  23. Good start by Bassitt all things considered. Angels pen doesn’t seem all that good so there’s still a chance.
