  1. Dusty Baker was fired a long time ago.
  2. Even if they did sell the farm and were blown out, I'd take everything Oakland's done over Toronto in my lifetime.
  3. This board is often more entertaining than actual Blue Jay games. Seriously, great work all.
  4. My back!!! Ouch my back!!
  5. Let's be realisitc. Brandon Morrow, in AA's mind IS his July/August pitching acquisition. Probably also falls under the category of his players acquisition as well. I don't know why people still think Toronto can/could add a Headley type with that salary considering the Dominicans and Buerhle had to pass around the hat for a mid-rotation starter in January/February.
  6. He'll do well in that park and that league.
  7. Grossly mis-managed ball club
  8. Weird...I remember Garza yelling at Oakland As for doing the same thing to him last year just as he started with Texas
  9. Good post. There is a 40 man roster then a 25 man roster, unfortunately Rogers believes a 12 man roster should suffice (even that's pushing it right now, more like 7-8 legit MLBers on it at the moment). I guess it's similar to my beer league team right now haha. And the mail man turned MLB GM went through with that idea. If this franchise didn't catch lightning in a bottle with Bautista and Encarnaction, where would we be right now? On a similar path the Cubs are on? Flailing in deeper mediocrity?
  10. The only time they opened their wallets with Ted Rogers alive was the 2005-06 off-season and that's using that term loosely.
  11. It's not so much the injuries that are the excuse, but the lack of preparation when it is evident that several of your key players have spent a lot of time on the DL in the past. Allocated too many dollars to these types and relied n them to be your go to guys, then there's nothing left when history repeats itself mid season. Same old.
  12. I'd be surprised if Headley is a Jay for this reason unless the Padres eat a large portion of his salary. And that's not likely as it's San Diego. For the past 15-16 months, everything done (or not done) by AA suggests they're being squeezed financially. We hear from people how you can't complain about Rogers as Toronto has a top 10 payroll, but it's annoying that the funds were seemingly cut off after 2 dumb trades. You're spending money on a few position players and a couple pitchers? No bench allowed, no SP upgrades allowed. No 2B allowed. No right handed bat with some pop allowed. Also, don't forget the baragain deals Bautista and Encarnacion have. That should have played well into Toronto's favour, as those 2 on the open market would make much more. It hasn't and it looks like their talents will be wasted without even a freaking Wild Card birth, let alone a WS. Oh well.
  13. I know who cares. Yankees broadcast acts like no Yankee has done it beofre. Let biggie enjoy it. He could be out of an MLB job within 2 years.
  14. When did Barry Davis turn into a Mike Wilner Blue Jays apologist clone?
  15. Exactly, I have season tickets for an OHL team because I enjoy it and think it's good bang for my buck. I'll always watch the Jays on TV but it says something when I've spent more money on this forum then I have at Jays ball games in the last 21 years.
  16. I don't panic, it's a sport for f***'s sake. I just laugh. I laugh at the payroll increase for players acquired via trading a chunk of the farm system. Then refusing (or not allowed) to spend any money on free agents when there were glaring holes at SP, 2B, and a righthanded bat to platoon Lind. I do not take the Blue Jays seriously under Rogers, Beeston, or Anthopoulos. I will pay for tickets and go to games when baseball people are in charge. Until then, EMA.
  17. I think it was his other hand that got hit today. His throwing hand.
  18. If Dickey didn't have a groin issue, I would have put one of these shitballers we used the past 2 games up against Cueto. It's highly unlikely Toronto wins with Cueto on the mound no matter who Toronto has pitching. Dickey in that park during the daytime isn't very encouraging.
  19. Yeah they could have taught him how to play LF seeing as how he couldn't/can't make consistent throws from 3B.
  20. Never had an account on the Jays' website forum. I've always been a lurker and felt that I wouldn't have much to add to a place that was so poorly moderated and poorly laid out. I probably read that board off and on since about 2004 though. Same with this place, I was aware of it when it first started up and read since it's incarnation last year, I just don't have much to add. This place is much better and much easier on the eyes but man, there's still people who obviously are making several accounts. That's absolutley pathetic. Just like the old place but mot nearly as bad. My only explanation is those people are kids with no school, no job and have nothing to do. Has to be, right?
