    This thread was premature. Today, the Toronto Blue Jays confirmed that they believe Colabello > Valencia. Truly unfathomable. When Beeston goes, AA and Gibbons should follow immediately. That shouldn't be up for discussion. This org needs someone who understands what a good 25 man roster is. Year after year, we see that AA has no clue. What's that saying? Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. In this case, this is how many times fans have been suckered in by these knobs who run this org?

    A couple months ago, weams implied the O's could use Michael Bowden as a trade chip. Yes, the career minor league who has since latched onto another org. I should have screen shotted the post. Terrible forum.

    This entire post has nothing to do with what I wrote. I apologize if I sound rude, but for the billionth time, YOU DON'T GET A COMP PICK FOR RENTALS. If you're a Mormon with 8 wives and 96 kids and still have been on this message board for 2.5 years, you should know that and if you don't, look it up instead of asking what's been asked countless times. Again, sorry for being rude, but it's frustrating after a while.

    Blue Jays are always half pregnant. Frankly, I'm shocked at how many people are okay with a .500 team giving up even more prospect capital for players who have nowhere else to go but down for the rest of their careers. I'm not saying Hoffman or Castro or the other guy will be anything but that's not the point. Why couldn't this team build itself up like KC, PIT, HOU? Smart orgs don't make moves like this.

    I remember media members saying the exact thing after the Martin signing - that Toronto would be of more interest to pitchers now that they have an elite catcher. Who has been their best starting pitching acquisition since the Martin signing? Felix Doubront.

    I'll worry about what I do with my own time, thank you very much. I'm sorry, I just can't believe that there are people around who still believe that the current regime can put a good product on the field. You can only go off of what history tells you and history tells me that there is zero hope to getting out of this perpetual .500 rut. What has happened to this once first class franchise is an abomination, plain and simple.

    By spring training 2016, Donaldson will be 30, Tulo will be 31, Martin will be 33, Edwin will be 33, Bautista will be 35. And look at the money that is tied up Tulo and Martin (will be worse if they extend the last two and Donaldson when he ages). The playoffs will likely still be a pipe dream. Typical Toronto sports. Make big flashy moves, have press conferences, wow the media. You can only polish a turd (in this case - this franchise) before people realize that it's still crap. How about building a solid base instead of swinging for the fences for that quick fix? I won't get sucked in. I might be labelled a "troll" or have gifs thrown at me by people who have the social skills of an unconfident 14 year old boy but I won't be played for a fool. This franchise is doomed with no end in sight. Beeston, Ed Rogers, AA, Gibbons, Cito and anyone else involved in this political ball wash of an org can eat s***.

    Bleh. This team is 49-48. I'd only entertain non-rental acquisitions but then again you still run the risk that what you give up becomes gold and what you receives turns into s***. This is Toronto after all.

    Someone help me out here. Were the Blue Jays not in a better place last year leading up to the deadline? I mean a better record than we have now by about 5-6 games and they elected to make a single lateral move. Now it looks like Toronto will be buyers with a .500 team give or take a few games? Can we conclude that AA has some flexibility payroll wise this year unlike last year or was that determined to be crap?

    How would this message board feel if Ed Rogers went out and signed Dave Dombrowski in the off-season to be the head of baseball ops?

    The amount of money available is fine. You can build a 90+ win team with less. However, I don't trust Rogers given their history to hire the right people to put a good product on the field. They never have in the past so we have no reason to believe they will if they clean house after 2015 or whenever. Their reputation precedes them.

    Doing this changes nothing with Rogers owning the Blue Jays.

    You wouldn't. This is an annoying thing about Toronto media and some of their fans. They think everything is boom or bust, when in pro sports, especially baseball, you can re-build on the fly without going to the bottom of the pile for 5-10 years. But you need the right people running the show. It would make sense to trade players pushing 40 though.

    I think the Blue Jays will be stuck in mediocrity indefinitely. It all goes back to ownership and Rogers has not been able to hire the right people since taking over. They usually have good intentions, but that doesn't matter if you don't know what you're doing. Does this surprise anyone though? Rogers has always been a s***** outfit so...you are what you are. You can call for AA to be canned but it really doesn't matter.

    This board is funny to read. The same people make ridiculous statements and use outdated stats that Harold Reynolds wouldn't even use and then proceed to get embarrassed by the same people time and time again. It's like watching a bird fly into the window over and over and over.

    No they won't. No one cares about what Buck and Pat have to say.

    MLB tv is the best choice imo. But was anyone having issues with it opening day? It seemed to be crashing after a few seconds of watching on my phone but yesterday was fine watching BAL/TB. Just don't want to throw away money for something broken.
