  1. Dickey so far has the Edwin Jackson pitching special..
  2. Not sure you can blame Bautista on that out at 3rd--Swihart hasn't exactly been tested much in LF.
  3. I remember when McDonald's was at Skydome..
  4. Cut Grilli some slack! He's recovering from an injury, and only his April was really bad.. he's been significantly better in May.
  5. Girodo sent to Buffalo. After he failed to retire anybody on Sunday, and struggled last week in NY, it's no surprise. Tepera still up (for now).. at least until they need a position player.
  6. He'll have a better chance to play in Philly on a rebuilding club. If the Jays were looking for somebody to play a bench role, preferrably it needs to be one who can actually play the field--and Paredes is basically a DH/pinch-hitter at best, as he sucks in the INF and OF.. the main reason Baltimore and Toronto cut him. Plus, we need 8 men in the pen right now so that some of our bullpen arms can have a breather.. especially with a series vs. Boston coming up.
  7. A few pieces missing for Boston tonight: 1. Mookie Betts ® RF 2. Dustin Pedroia ® 2B 3. Xander Bogaerts ® SS 4. Travis Shaw (L) 1B 5. Hanley Ramirez ® DH 6. Jackie Bradley Jr. (L) CF 7. Marco Hernandez (L) 3B 8. Christian Vazquez ® C 9. Blake Swihart (S) LF
  8. But will the Steinbrenners be it? Remember, this isn't George's team anymore--Hank and Hal are more budget-oriented compared to the Boss.
  9. Not the 2018 class garbage again.. it's likely most, if not all of them, agree to extensions before then. This isn't the 1990s/early 2000s, pre-revenue sharing and MLB Advanced Media era.. small market teams have the money to resign their stars as well.
  10. Here's the lineup: Bautista RF Donaldson 3B Encarnacion 1B Saunders LF Tulo SS Paredes DH Pillar CF Barney 2B Thole C I think Goins is on his way to Buffalo by week's end.. obvious they're keeping Barney as the utility infielder when Travis returns and sending Goins down until he actually starts hitting.
  11. Plus, Toronto's sked is about to finally ease--10 games coming up against sub .500 teams (Tampa, Minnesota, NY Yankees). So maybe we start a run this week..
  12. Chavez definitely for throwing at Fielder when warnings were issued--Pillar and Donaldson likely just get fines. Bautista likely gets 1-3 games at worst..
  13. At this point, Odor's the one who'll likely be hit hard.. 10 games minimum, because he punched Bautista. And Bautista likely gets a lesser suspension/fine..
  14. Rays have their own issues.. they just lost Forsythe to an injury recently, aren't scoring, and Danny Valencia of the A's hit 3 HRs off their pitching today.
  15. Can you believe this is Bautista's 1000th game tonight with the Blue Jays And to think we got him for Robinzon Diaz (who flamed out badly).. and JP Riccardi wanted him for OF, 1B, 2B, 3B.. and was only expecting 15-20 HR.. who knew he'd become one of the elite players in the game? Oh, and that video of the Rogers Centre in 2009-2012.. the field looked awful then! Makes me appreciate the dirt infield we have now..
  16. Yes--but we've had a brutal schedule, plus the division is pretty even (except for the Yankees). One good week for us and the Jays might lead the division..
  17. Brett Nicholas got sent to AAA for no apparent reason.. actually, it's because they reacquired Bobby Wilson, and they needed 8 men in the bullpen (half the pen is unavailable because of that extra-inning game last night.) A break for the Jays..
  18. At least Smoak is in the lineup.. plus Tulo and Saunders need days off anyway. They'll be back in tomorrow. Zeke needs a good night--especially with Michael Bourn being a possibility within a week or two..
  19. Not expecting Baltimore to keep this up--their upcoming sked is difficult, with the Royals, Rays and White Sox coming up. Unless they keep hitting to offset mediocre pitching, the Orioles are going to crash back to earth soon.
  20. Against the worst team in baseball right now.. I mean, Reds pitching is AWFUL... and the offense is bad too.
  21. No trouble getting on base via walks(4 tonight).. but how about some hits with RISP? And when is Baltimore is gonna cool down? Only team in the AL East above .500... everyone else is below .500, including Boston. At least we're not the Yankees.. what a mess right now, as that team is about to sink to 5-9.. barely above Houston and Minnesota for the AL basement.
  22. Nice swinging bunt by Goins.. now the chance for runs again (hopefully no lineout DPs this time).
  23. Damn Machado--boy, those 2 runs we could've had if it wasn't for Ubaldo's lucky grab would look good right now..
