  1. No chance it ends--as long as it brings in big money and attendance, they'll continue to do this until Montreal gets an MLB team again.
  2. It won't mean a damn thing if the Rays don't get some offense--the lack of bats last year sank the Rays and offset the pitching (along with Cash's strange bullpen usage).
  3. Fausto Carmona(aka Roberto Hernandez) has been told by the Jays he's not making the team. He's headed for free agency, as he's going to refuse an assignment to Buffalo.
  4. Don't forget, AJ Jimenez is out of options and not guaranteed to make it back to Buffalo. Some teams, like Houston, are looking for backup catcher depth right now..
  5. Blame the season opener issue on ESPN--they're airing 3 Opening Day games on Sunday this season instead of the usual 1, and the Jays are on the list. That's what happens when the team makes a deep run in the postseason... more coverage in the US. Royals/Mets is even more oddball--only 2 games that week, and then both teams get multiple days off.
  6. Yes they did, because of HanRam and Sandoval and those 5 "aces"--what a bust! There's so much uncertainty with Boston.. Ed-Rod's out for most of April, and their rotation is still full of questions after Price. In addition, Owens hasn't impressed this spring, meaning Roenis Elias or long-man Steven Wright will likely get the 5th spot (Johnson isn't MLB ready), which would put Matt Barnes as the long man, if Wright gets the 5th spot. Actually, Elias hasn't impressed either..
  7. Lots of teams do this--remember, it's still early in Spring Training. Don't want the regulars going full blast until the last two weeks.. due to the risk of injury. Plus, the regulars played yesterday vs. the Yankees.. Also, the Jays need to evaluate who'll be on their bench this year.
  8. 2 wild pitches have led to runs already.. wonder if Archer is just wild or injured?
  9. Tepera looks booked for Buffalo with his performance here..
  10. Tomorrow's schedule: Happ Storen Osuna Penny McCoy(Pat) LeBlanc Girodo Browning SATURDAY: Hutchison Delabar Tepera Aardsma Leon Jenkins Copeland Connor Greene SUNDAY: Stroman (2 or 3IP) Chavez (2 IP) Rowen Biagini Diamond Venditte
  11. Niese getting pounded--Goins just drew a bases-loaded walk on him. 2-1 Jays.
  12. Floyd struggling early on.. with control issues.
  13. Game ends in a tie 4-4.
  14. Hope Dwight Smith Jr. is OK--got hurt during that run home to tie the game.
  15. Aardsma struggled. BB, a triple, 1 ER, 0Ks.. doesn't look like his chances of making the Jays bullpen look good.
  16. Sanchez so far: 1.0IP, 2H, 2K.
  17. Epic fail on the talk about the currency--Philly's in the US. On the other hand, the loonie has significantly rebounded, trading now at $1.3395 at last check (74.65 cents), which is a huge improvement from mid January, and looks poised to go below $1.30 with oil rebounding, the economy showing some improvement, and the Bank of Canada no longer in easing mode, plus the US dollar weakening against non-European currencies (it's only still inflated because of weaknesses in the euro, pound sterling and emerging market currencies), along with US rate hikes unlikely to happen anytime soon as the US economy is slowing badly.
  18. Yep. Needs to have a good spring or he's gone.
  19. Except he's guaranteed to make the club, while Travis rehabs.
  20. Wow, Carrera! What a throw to 2nd.
  21. 5 RBIs for Barney! Either Philly's pitching is garbage, or he's been taking lessons from Bautista, EE and Donaldson..
  22. Wouldn't be too worried about JP Arencibia.. we all know he'll K a ton, show no plate discipline, and do a poor job catching. And he's far from guaranteed to make the Phillies.
  23. O's beating the Braves 4-0. Ryan Flaherty and Christian Walker have HRs.. off of former Yankees reliever Danny Burawa. Of course, the O's lineup today consists heavily of backups and guys bound for Norfolk, like the Jays.
  24. Getting close to the point where the AAA/AA guys come in.. likely by the next inning.
