  1. What a trainwreck I'm watching.. certainly we have better option than Hendriks?
  2. What a DP by Lawrie! This has been a big problem for Cincy all year, trying to score with RISP..
  3. Except for Bailey and Cingrani, who have been terrible.
  4. Mat Latos went 14-7 last year and a 3.10 FIP and a 3.16 ERA. He's good.
  5. Guess so.. but we know the Cards and Dodgers pretty much have spots locked up with their strong rotations. Cincy has bullpen and offensive issues.
  6. Does Buck even watch NL games? Cincy is far from a contender, and is weak compared to the Brewers, Cards and Dodgers.
  7. While we're at it, the Reds sent down Tony Cingrani themselves.. and brought up Jumbo Diaz, who's even heavier than Bartolo Colon at 315 lbs. He's been dominating at AAA.. but considering he's already 30, don't expect much from him.
  8. Sportsnet590 The FAN ‏@FAN590 7m The @BlueJays have optioned reliever Steve Delabar to Buffalo and have recalled pitcher Liam Hendriks, who will make tonight's start. No surprise here.
  9. Some good news for the Jays.. Cincy and Pittsburgh are in extras..
  10. What a collapse in Detroit. To think they were 7 up on May 18th.. an 8.5 game swing in about a month to the downside, compared to a 4.5 game gain for the Jays. Wonder if changes are coming in Detroit soon.
  11. Tampa's really bad. Gausman wasn't as good vs. Toronto.
  12. That is horrible. Let's hope tomorrow's umpire will call a better strike zone. Although in reality, we had no shot to win this game with Tanaka pitching(ask the other 9 teams who've lost to Tanaka this year!) Just be glad that we haven't had a spectacular collapse like the Detroit Tigers, who have collapsed due to terrible pitching.
  13. I know the Jays are struggling right now, but at least they're still pitching decently! Look at the collapse of the Detroit Tigers! 12-18 in their last 30, Verlander's been garbage.. and now they've fallen out of 1st place after the Royals defeated them tonight. Jeff Jones(pitching coach) and Mick Billmeyer (bullpen coach) are likely going to be fired soon, possibly this week if the Tigers lose 3 of 4 or get swept by the Royals.
  14. Not all good news. Nori Aoki left the game with a leg injury.
  15. Max Scherzer is absolutely getting obliterated vs. the Royals. 2.0 IP, 7 H, 7 ER, 1 BB, 2K..
  16. Former Jays farmhand Yohan Pino is getting called up by the Twins. Yet they won't call up Meyer or May..
  17. Considering his 2.17 WHIP since May 17th, reduced K's and increased walk rate, it's not surprising he got sent down.
  18. Jays didn't have a choice. He was basically reduced to mop-up duty in recent outings due to his struggles after May 17th: (6.0 IP, 6H, 6 ER, 7 BB, 3 Ks, 2.17 WHIP)
  19. Yes it is. Reyes SS Cabrera LF Bautista RF Encarnacion 1B Lawrie 3B Navarro C Francisco DH Gose CF Kawasaki 2B
  20. Grady Sizemore's comeback is over. Red Sox DFAd him in favour of Garin Cecchini, who will back up at 3B with Brock Holt/Jackie Bradley Jr. playing CF.
  21. 9 month recovery process for TJS for a catcher. He'll be back by Spring Training. Potentially big blow for the O's in their hopes in making a playoff run, considering they're fighting the Jays and Yankees, along with the Angels and Royals for a spot.
  22. One note to consider is that Tanaka will be facing the Jays for the 2nd time. Last time he faced an opponent for a 2nd time, he lost (Cubs). And we did hit him a little bit the 1st time.. but McGowan didn't pitch well (when he was starting.)
  23. Bet most of those commentators are from ESPN I bet. Regarding the Yanks, after Tanaka, the rotation drops off a lot. Kuroda has been terrible, Nuno's bad, Phelps has been average at best, and Whitley doesn't convince me, as he seems like a flash in the pan. Here's a piece on Whitley from Pinstripe Alley on SBNation, and it's not positive: http://www.pinstripealley.com/yankees-analysis-sabermetrics/2014/6/14/5806588/yankees-chase-whitley-rotation-strikes-control-sustainability
  24. Vidal Nuno is garbage. Unfortunately, Sabathia is a way off, and they have very few options in AAA, nor do they have the assets to make a trade. And I expect Whitley to fade sooner or later.
