  1. Now 4-0 Boston. Can you believe most US networks, including ESPN, predicted the Rays to win the AL East? They've turned into last year's Jays instead, while the Jays are in 1st. Boston's going to face Cleveland, Detroit and Baltimore after this on the road. They're due to cool off soon. Tampa Bay is a joke right now, so it's no surprise Boston is winning. Too bad they'll gain no ground UNLESS the Angels lose.
  2. What a mess of a game. Oviedo's 2nd loss this week BTW.. both on walk offs caused by defensive errors, or like tonight, a collision in the OF.
  3. So only Boston picks up ground. Jays still 2.5 up(Yankees) and 4.5 up(O's)
  4. Walk-off triple by AJ Pierzynski off of Oviedo. Red Sox win again. Rays continue to sink.
  5. Game's tied at 2 still, and Pedroia has left the game with an undisclosed injury. Escobar has just followed suit limping to first..
  6. Even if we lose, the Yankees are losing, so we'll still be 2.5 up. In addition, Happ saved the bullpen by going deep in the game, which will be good if Stroman starts tomorrow.
  7. Texas getting blown out 8-2. Yankees down 4-1 vs. the Twins (really? Against Nolasco?) Baltimore leads 1-0 vs. Houston so far.
  8. Multiple suspensions and fines coming in Boston: Ejections: Boston Red Sox Manager John Farrell ejected by HP umpire Dan Bellino (1st); Boston Red Sox Bench Coach Torey Lovullo ejected by HP umpire Dan Bellino (4th); Boston Red Sox pitcher Brandon Workman ejected by HP umpire Dan Bellino (6th); Boston Red Sox Third Base Coach Brian Butterfield ejected by HP umpire Dan Bellino (6th) That's the list of ejections so far tonight in the Red Sox/Rays game. Workman's likely gone 5 games at least, and the coaches are uncertain. Workman was tossed for tossing behind a batter. Red Sox are also losing, BTW.
  9. Don't remember what Jamie did but I remember Michael Kay getting excited when Giambi hit that walkoff HR.. it actually was used as a clip in MLB 10: The SHow (or was it 11?)
  10. Inexcusable for a "contending" team to lose to the Astros. Do the O's even want to compete?
  11. Nope. Still 7 out and 4.5 back of the Yankees, and facing the Rays AGAIN tomorrow. Rays got Zobrist back BTW.
  12. Baltimore will be at .500 if they lose. The way things are going, it's basically us vs. the Yankees in the AL East. None of Baltimore, Boston or Tampa have impressed. Even though Boston won 4 straight, Atlanta pissed away wins in all of the games on bad bullpen management and defensive miscues. Let's see what Boston does vs. Tampa. BTW, with the Boston sweep, Atlanta is no longer in 1st in the NL East.. they're tied with Miami!
  13. That 2009 team should never have been in 1st place. It was basically just Roy Halladay and a bunch of kids and non-prospects, and Brian Tallet in the rotation. We had such names like Ricky Romero, Scott Richmond, Mark Rzepczynski, Robbie Ray, David Purcey, Brad Mills and Brian Burres in that rotation. That was awful! And don't get me started on the mess on the roster back then.
  14. Can't see a streak like that this time. Remember, Reyes is healthy, and we don't have Izturis/Bonifacio/JPA or Melky with a tumour plaguing the roster like last year. Plus, the pitching, outside of tonight's game, is better.
  15. That was the beginning of the end for BJ Ryan there after that crushing blow by Milton Bradley..
  16. Exactly. The next three matchups favor the Jays. Neither Vargas or Guthrie inspire much for the Royals, and there's still no starter for Saturday for the Royals.
  17. Me too. I love the fact there's no clock and games can go on and on..
  18. They still have infielder Johnathon Herrera on the bench.
  19. Royals hitting coach Pedro Grifol has been fired. Dale Sveum has been hired as the interim hitting coach. Bet Ned Yost gets canned next.
  20. We're in good shape. Neither Boston nor Tampa are close to contention right now. Only the Yankees and maybe the Orioles are in the mix right now.
