Anything to get Johnson a day off.. surprisingly, this is our best defensive lineup sans Lawrie.

    I know people like Kratz, but outside of his D, he has done little to deserve a roster spot (.198/.226/.346) That spot would be better used on another infielder or an acquisition..

    About expected for a player that will be a free agent at season's end and has been declining (injury?) for the last few years, and wasn't part of the Padres plans. You've seen Solarte. hopefully his stuff plays better in the NL. Rafael DePaula is a A+ ball pitcher with control issues but high K totals, and will likely end up in the bullpen long term. Something must be wrong with Headley if this is all the Padres could get for him. And for the Yankees, he's basically a stopgap for the remainder of the season until A-Rod's contract returns to the payroll and the 25-man in 2015.

    Speaking of Thames-type defense.. the Yankees have FIVE errors tonight, with Shane Greene committing 3 errors (most since Tommy John did it.) Brian Roberts and Derek Jeter had the other two. And the Yanks are losing 4-2 as a result.

    AAA baseball didn't work there.. what makes you think the MLB will sell there? Plus, it's Mariners territory.

    And are likely headed to San Antonio or Montreal if the city of Oakland doesn't renew their lease at the O.co and starts plans on a new stadium. Worse, the Oakland Raiders want the stadium torn down to build a football only stadium, which would leave the A's homeless.

    Jake Peavy's sabermetric numbers (FIP/xFIP/SIERA) all are unfavorable. He deserves to be 1-8, (4.72/4.34/4.29), and he's not getting run support either.

    Drabek is a reliever now. No way he can throw 4-5 innings right now.

    Rogers isn't cheap($137M+ payroll), Santos deserved a DFA with his numbers this season, and it's one fricking game!
