    Kevin Whelan just gave up back-to-back jacks to Martin and Davis. Now 10-4 Pittsburgh. Expect the Tigers to get arms.. from AA Erie along with Robbie Ray. What a clusterf*ck of a mess. Love their AA team's name, the SeaWolves..

    And considering how he was hitting recently and his D, losing him could allow the Yankees and Blue Jays to have a shot to get back in the AL East race. Remember, the Yankees are playing the O's as we speak. Taking him out of 3B could be devastating for the O's. And it doesn't help Hardy has a thumb injury as well, hurting their SS position as well.

    Update on Verlander, and it could be a DL stint looming: Jason Beck ‏@beckjason Verlander removed with right shoulder soreness. Will be further evaluated Tuessday.

    Either that or the Pirates sweep the Tigers. Remember, if the Royals win, the Tigers will fall into the wild card race, and a Jays win will cut the gap to a single game.

    Manny Machado is clutching his knee.. that could be a major blow to the O's if he's hurt, and could allow a chance for the Yanks and Jays to get back in the race if it's serious.

    At the rate things are going, we'll be chasing the Tigers instead of the Royals by night's end. Things are bad in Detroit. And worse, a AAA starter (Robbie Ray) is going tomorrow. And nobody knows who's starting Wednesday.

    Tigers down 8-1... in the 2nd inning. Verlander knocked out early, and Justin Miller is pouring gasoline and lighting a match, giving up a HR to Travis Snider.

    Verlander gone after 1 inning: 1 IP, 4H 5ER, 2BB, 3K, 23 strikes, 17 balls. Wonder who's going to get grilled for this for blowing out their bullpen yesterday.
