  1. Don't forget, the Angels/A's could be fighting for a division by then. They may not have the option of using either guys. And we have yet to see whether the trade of Cespedes hurts the A's offense.
  2. Rich Hill now in for the Yanks, just hitting Carrera. Guess he's trying to get another DFA. Daley now in.. Yanks are going to run out of pitchers at the rate Girardi runs the pen.
  3. And the Angels rotation is seriously thin after Jered Weaver and Garret Richards. And we could still end up with the A's.. Angels are right within 1 game of the division lead. No way they beat the Tigers or O's in a 5 or 7 game series with that rotation after Weaver/Richards, which includes mediocrity in Wilson, Santiago, Skaggs, and a questionable Shoemaker.
  4. Those same Yankees get the O's next week. And at the rate the O's are going.. they could be printing playoff tickets very soon.
  5. Wait until Esmil Rogers gives up a big hit like he did in Toronto.
  6. That game sucked. And it won't make Yanks fans happy either, as the O's are running away with the East, and now have the largest division lead in the AL, and are now only 4 back(5 in the loss column) of having home field advantage into the World Series.. Still, the rest of the wild card isn't exactly inspiring either. Cleveland isn't really a factor, Kansas City can't score consistently, Seattle can't score at all.. and who knows what the Yanks will do.
  7. What a disastrous outing tonight.. News isn't all bad, though. Indians lost, Royals trail, and no way in hell the Mariners will win vs. the Braves, a far better team than the Mariners. Yanks/Tigers is tied.
  8. True.. but his 4.32 xFIP and 4.54 SIERA screamed regression. Just a return back to his normal stats.
  9. Thank goodness for Lawrie.. just saved Buehrle's bacon there.
  10. Geez.. Buehrle's getting pounded early on.. and that July ERA is regression to his FIP/XFIP/SIERA numbers.
  11. It's also the only reason the O's are contending even with a mediocre lineup that has struggled in the 2nd half because of Cruz's regression. This team is also incredibly lucky as well.. their Pyth. record is 4 games worse than their actual record. By that measure, Toronto is better than them(60-53).
  12. Good chance for a win tonight. Most of Buehrle's numbers are only strong vs. Markakis, Young and Jones.. wouldn't be surprised if Buehrle tries not to pitch to them.
  13. Webster can't throw strikes. Workman and De La Rosa are tough to call, and Ranaudo only has 1 MLB start before he was optioned to AAA.
  14. Most teams don't have 4-5 pitching prospects that are close to or are MLB ready like Boston.
  15. Eat your heart out, Jim Edmonds! Carrera just saved 2 runs on an unbelievable play. Sadly, a run scored on a SF... 1-0 Yankees.
  16. Not a Jays prospect, but Henry Owens, Boston's top pitching prospect, is carving up the Columbus Clippers (which includes top SS prospect Francisco Lindor): 5 IP, 0H, 2BB, 8Ks. At the rate Buchholz is struggling, could we see him as a September call up in Boston?
  17. McCarthy barely gets out of the 2nd inning scoreless.. after wasting 34 pitches. Considering the Yanks pen is gassed, they can't afford a short outing by McCarthy. Nats up 2-1 in the O's game BTW.
  18. We'll see. Remember, I also said Goins to AAA is an option too.
  19. He was pretty much ready to go after those games in Dunedin. I don't call it desperation. The corresponding move will either be Kawasaki or Goins to AAA or a DFA of Steve Tolleson (more likely Kawasaki to AAA)
  20. Washington's favoured to win according to oddsmakers. As for the rest, Detroit for sure, the other two are a coin toss. For Jays fans, let's hope Roark has his best stuff.
  21. Wonder if Brett Gardner is taking the same stuff Ellsbury did with his 32 HR season in 2011.. Gardner homers again!
  22. Esmil Rogers now in the game for the Yankees.
