  1. Royals win again! Now a 1.5 game lead in the Central, and the Tigers are out of the postseason mix with the Yankees and Jays, as the Mariners refuse to lose. No help on the way either for the Tigers.. they have a big series vs. the Rays, and the Mariners are facing an awful Phillies team.
  2. And thanks to recent struggles by the A's, your Mariners could still win the division, depending what happens. A's play later.. Mariners could cut their deficit to 5.5 games in the West with a Braves win. And the Mariners upcoming sked is a cakewalk.. Phillies, Red Sox and Rangers, while the A's battle the Angels.
  3. Nice catch by Bautista. Hutchison has settled down after a bad start.. still, we need some runs to cut that 6-1 deficit.
  4. Of course, with Scott Carroll pitching, it's anybody's guess what the score ends up being. We could very well come back in this game.
  5. I wonder if Hutch will get sent to AAA with the off-days coming up.
  6. Cleveland just scored after Jones threw a ball away. Good news for AL East teams.
  7. No surprise there. 1-0 Jays. Nieto belongs in AA/AAA.. he's only here due to being a Rule 5 pick and none of the White Sox options being any good.
  8. Definite blockage of the plate there. It's going to be overturned.
  9. No Navarro... probably due to day game after night game and a day off Monday. Also, Mariners lead 2-0 on Detroit (we need them to win so we can pick up 0.5 game in the standings if we win.)
  10. Considering that the Jays may have potentially a rotation of Dickey, Buehrle, Happ, Hutchison, Sanchez, Norris and Stroman, with Nolin, Graveman in AAA, they're in much better shape than in 2011-2013. We could actually afford to trade Buehrle or Dickey this offseason if we want to cash them in for young talent.. AA's done a good job rebuilding the pitching on the farm, even after that trade. And besides, AA has a better chance of keeping his job than Brian Cashman, who is likely to be fired after this season by the Yankees when they miss the playoffs again, and his contract expires.
  11. Don't be so sure. Oakland's 9-11 in their last 20, and are having difficulty scoring, worsened after the Cespedes trade. Texas Rangers fans know about collapses.. it can happen. And let's not forget they play the Angels starting next weekend.
  12. Angels have overtaken the A's in the standings. A's now drop into the wild card race (but still with a 6 game lead.) Still, with sets coming up vs. the Angels, even that 6 game lead could be in jeopardy.
  13. May not even be the Angels in a one-game playoff. Angels lead 5-2 vs. the Rangers and will move into the division lead with a win, as the A's have just lost to the Braves 4-3. A's now only lead the 1st wild card by 5.5... and have the Angels next weekend. Oakland has not faced LA since June.. and the trade of Cespedes may give the Angels more of an advantage offensively, regardless of the A's pitching.
  14. Angels really need it in the West.. especially considering they spent all that money and haven't made the playoffs since 2009, and it would help Mike Trout's MVP chances.
  15. Jays win, Mariners lose, Jays pick up ground. Now only 3.5 back, and 6.5 back on Baltimore.
  16. Rays took 3 of 4 from Baltimore last time. They're a dangerous team to the O's. And the Red Sox and Jays are 6-7 vs. the O's. Only the Yanks are truly awful vs. the O's.. but they'll likely have Tanaka back by that series.
  17. Let's wait and see how they do vs. the Yankees, Red Sox, Jays and Rays in late August/September. They also have a 3 gamer vs. the Reds as well.
