  1. And if that's not bad enough:
  2. Liam Hendriks is garbage. Bases loaded and he's out with the Royals down 3-2.
  3. Yanks are getting no-hit by Alex Cobb through 6.
  4. Looks like the beginning of the end for the Rays franchise.. they really need to move to the Tampa area ASAP.
  5. White Sox win! A's lead now down to a single game, and now Toronto only trails by 4.5.. on the 1st wild card. What a collapse in Oakland.. who do you think gets fired after this debacle?
  6. All I can say is wow.. wonder whose heads will roll if the A's miss the playoffs, and two of the group of Seattle/KC/Detroit/Toronto and maybe Cleveland make it. Worse for Oakland, they have Seattle next.. the A's could be out of the postseason mix by the end of this weekend!
  7. Red Sox planning major spending spree: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/0...#disqus_thread Yeah right.. free agents will choose teams that are championship or up and coming contenders(Tigers, Angels, Mariners, Nats, O's, Dodgers, Giants, Yankees, Cubs, White Sox, etc), not this Red Sox team which is projected to finish last again, and really needs a rebuild, especially with David Ortiz expected to retire in the next few years, and no suitable replacement in the system(not Mookie Betts, as he's a leadoff guy, not a #3-#4 hitter)
  8. Indians win 8-2. Indians could pick up 1.5 games today depending what they do in the 2nd half of the double-header.
  9. Another loss! And worse, they get Chris Sale tomorrow.. if Seattle dominates this weekend, Oakland could be out of contention after that series.
  10. That's still two weeks away.. we don't know the rotation. Plus, we have Bautista, Lind and EE all back (even minus Cabrera), unlike last time, plus it's at home, instead of that pitcher's park in Seattle.
  11. What hurts KC's chances is their lack of offense. Unless they pitch really well, they won't win. Plus, they have a losing record vs. Cleveland as well. And their 4 game set vs. Boston won't be a cake walk, as they got swept at Fenway earlier this season, and that was against two of the starters they'll face this weekend (Buchholz, De La Rosa). And this team may make Kelly and Webster look like Cy Young candidates, because they don't walk... at all (last in AL in walks)
  12. Exactly. And with Cody Allen pitching that bottom part of the 10th, the Indians will win that game.
  13. KC maybe.. no Shields vs. the Red Sox, Hendriks pitching, and Boston's 3-0 vs. the Royals this season. Detroit is anybody's guess.
  14. Oh, BTW, whoever loses tonight, Jays will only be 3 out in the loss column on either KC or DET or SEA.
  15. Didn't I warn the Astros/M's series was a trap series? Houston isn't as bad as they were in previous years. And this is a game Seattle needs.. A's and Angels are coming up, and both have good chances to kill the Mariners playoff chances and help KC/DET and Toronto's chances.
  16. Actually, if you include the expected loss in the aborted CLE/KC game to be completed later in September, Detroit leads the division, not KC. But with a win, KC will lead.
  17. Big win for the Jays! Bring on the Rays (who are losing to the Yanks BTW as the Yanks bullpen has stopped Crap Cushion's bleeding). Still got the A's and Mariners games to watch, along with the KC/DET game. We could be only 3.5 out if the Mariners lose.
  18. Boy, this game is going fast.. good thing we have lots more baseball to watch after this on TSN2 and SN1.
  19. Yep. Yanks are decimated in the OF with the injuries to Beltran and Gardner and Prado.
  20. He doesn't realize that Ned Yost is going to piss away a playoff spot making stupid moves, like he's done in the Tigers series, which has cost them heavily in the standings. Not to mention the Royals are a streaky team, with a good month/bad month/good month/bad month (May and July they were below .500, yet were above in April, June and August.) Based on that pattern, the Royals aren't making the playoffs.
  21. Rays lead 3-0 on the Yanks, and Crap Cushion got yanked after 0.1 IP... not the kind of outing the Yanks need to keep their playoff hopes alive. Basically, it's down to Oakland, Seattle, 2nd place team in the AL Central, and Toronto for the wild cards.
  22. "Crap Cushion"(Chris Capuano) is getting lit up by the Rays early on.. say goodbye to the Yanks playoff hopes. Indians got rained out and will play a double-dip tomorrow.
  23. And O's fans are not impressed.. it almost guarantees a matchup with the Tigers in the ALDS.
  24. That's not a cake walk. KC is winless vs. Boston, got swept by Cleveland recently, and don't ask about the Tigers.
  25. Yikes. Is McClendon trying to keep KC/Detroit and Toronto in the race?? That's just not right.
