  1. Giants finally convince somebody to sign. and it's Jake Peavy:
  2. Kemp trade in danger of falling apart and tying the Dodgers hands on financially and on the 25 and 40 man:
  3. No Kenta Maeda for the Yanks or Red Sox to overbid on:
  4. Padres also get Gerardo Reyes as well.
  5. 2/20 for Volquez, to the Royals. There's your James Shields replacement. UPDATE: Legit source found:
  6. Deal's done according to Jim Bowden: TO PADRES: Myers, Hanigan, Jose Castillo TO RAYS: Souza, Travis Ott, Rene Rivera, Burch Smith, Jake Bauers TO NATS: Trea Turner(PTBNL), Joe Ross
  7. JP Riccardi deserves a lot of that blame. Especially the Romero drafting over Tulo. AA's drafting record is still up in the air.
  8. Gavin Floyd must be on a low deal.. especially considering he's coming off an injury. And everybody seems to hate Moises Sierra..
  9. Gavin Floyd signs with the Indians.
  10. OBP machine Daric Barton signed a minor-league deal with the Jays. Now if he could only hit.. he'd be a better option than Smoak.
  11. That and the Yankees are very thin in depth, with nobody in the minors MLB ready or even being any better than Capuano, especially considering they traded Shane Greene to the Tigers. Better hope Tanaka, Sabathia and Pineda stay healthy. Severino is still a ways away, and neither Bryan Mitchell or Chase Whitley or MLB ready, or can be considered decent rotation depth. And Banuelos is still recovering from TJS.
  12. Agreed.. but not at $11M/year, especially when his power has disappeared and his OF defense will likely stink at Kaufman stadium, and will likely require frequent defensive replacements with Cain/Dyson late in games in 2015.
  13. I guess KC is hoping he rebounds into his 2010 or 2012 form.. what is it with him? Where did his power go? I mean, he played in hitters parks.. He'll replace Aoki in RF.. whether it's an upgrade or not is a question mark. They still need a starter to replace Shields, and Morales is looking like a waste of money.
  14. Way too much money for an OF with declining skills. What the heck is Dayton Moore thinking?
  15. Providing McCarthy and Anderson stay healthy. Both of them have a checkered injury history.
  16. Luckily, most of the bad contracts outside of Reyes come off the books after 2015.
  17. Dodger sign P Brett Anderson to a 1/$10M contract with incentives. WTF?
  18. Rogers, like most Canadian teams, hedges against the Canadian dollar, making it a non-issue, and the dollar will likely rebound within a few months once oil prices stop falling and the US dollar starts to drop. The buyouts are more an issue, though. Toronto is currently at a *projected* $127.5M before benefits. Thankfully after this coming season, Ricky Romero comes off the books, along with Mark Buehrle.
  19. No, he was wrecked by the Marlins.. he was already a mess when he was traded.
  20. And we all know how it ended for SD.. TJS and never threw a pitch for them. BTW, Josh Johnson is still a free agent..
  21. Jake Fox was with the Somerset Patriots earlier this year before being sold to the Mexican League.. he's a AAAA body for Buffalo, nothing more. Caleb Gindl and Wilton Lopez could be interesting, though.
  22. Minor trade by the Red Sox: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/12/red-sox-acquire-zeke-spruill.html No idea on this trade.. Zeke Spruill was garbage in AAA this past year.. this has to be Pawtucket depth.
  23. Wade Miley deal's done. Red Sox get: Wade Miley D-Backs get: Rubby De La Rosa, Allen Webster, Raymel Flores(?)
  24. Yes. We've seen certain sinkerballers (Webb, Wang, etc.) break down badly in the past to serious injuries and never return the same pitcher, or in Webb's case, didn't return at all.
  25. Translating NL West (Miley), AL Central (Porcello) stats, both will see their ERAs soar with the Red Sox, pitching in hitter's parks the majority of the time. And Masterson lost a ton of miles on his pitches.. I don't see him rebounding in Boston, and I wouldn't be surprised if he's hiding a serious injury with his elbow.. but neither the Indians or Cardinals saw it. It's not a good sign when you lose 3 mph on your fastball.
