    While Shane Greene might be good for the Tigers.. can the Tigers system get any thinner? They've given up their #1 prospect (Devon Travis to the Blue Jays), #5(Leyba) and #7(Robbie Ray) prospects already this offseason.

    Uh... no. De Aza was a non-tender candidate and a terrible defensive outfielder. David Lough is a 4th outfielder at best. And it's unlikely Steve Pearce will repeat his 2014... ask Chris Davis.

    Adam Jones is ticked off at the O's letting Cruz and Markakis go: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/adam-jones-not-too-happy-about-nick-markakis-leaving-orioles-001320253.html And the O's promised to boost payroll.. Peter Angelos is being cheap again. O's fans are ticked.. while the Jays and Red Sox (and likely the Yankees) are making upgrades, the O's haven't done a thing! They're looking at a huge drop in the standings next year if they don't get help in the OF and starting rotation.

    True, but his defense is going to have to improve. Kevin Plawecki is expected to be in AAA next year, and is going to push D'Arnaud for the starting job, and projects to hit better than Travis d'Arnaud. Either d'Arnaud needs to improve his throwing and defense, or he will be moved from C.

    2014 Teflon Glove Awards (by CBSSports.com) are out, and former Jay Travis D'Arnaud ranked as worst defensive catcher.. good thing we have Russell Martin here in Toronto now! HanRam ranked as worst SS.. which explains why Boston is putting him in LF, which he will likely be as bad.. look at his awful D at SS and 3B in the past!     I've been in Buffalo all weekend watching the Bills win. And BTW, the Donaldson deal will be a big boost to the Blue Jays, and a huge upgrade over Lawrie, who can't stay healthy.

    BTW, it's doubtful the O's could afford to keep Cruz anyway. Including arb raises and $11-12M in benefit costs subject to luxury tax, the O's payroll is pushing close to $130M, with $115.2M projected pre-benefits, and about $127M with them. With Cruz gone, Davis likely gets tendered a contract, and the team likely gets more aggressive on Markakis and increases talks with the Dodgers, as it is uncertain if the O's will be willing to pay and sacrifice a draft pick for Melky Cabrera.
