  1. $4M for Steve Pearce in Baltimore.
  2. Alexi Ogando to Red Sox on a 1-year MLB deal. Guess they need to keep loading up on former Texas Rangers pitchers.. hope Boston didn't give too much guaranteed money, as he's had injury problems the last 2 seasons, and was horrid last year. Bad news for Britton and/or Workman (if Ogando passes a physical, which is no sure thing.)
  3. Briceno is a decent catching prospect, Chris O'Dowd is not. Nice to see the Rockies get some pitchers.. but why would the Braves do this?
  4. Belisario also has had visa issues which may have made it difficult to come into Canada, along with a previous suspension for cocaine. That might've been the reason the deal was pulled.
  5. Good luck finding a better deal.. Belisario is going to have trouble getting a deal after these negotiations.
  6. Something with him must've been a red flag for Toronto..
  7. Meh. Too much risk, and hasn't pitched since 2013. We need someone who won't threaten to clog the DL, which Billingsley has done a lot of due to TJS and a torn flexor tendon.
  8. Still time left. Pitchers and catchers don't report for about 3 weeks.. free agents are going to get desperate. And when is someone going to sign James Shields??
  9. If we could teach him to play 1B he might be an upgrade over Smoak..
  10. According to PECOTA, Red Sox win the East.. but not in a runaway like FanGraphs. Jays in the middle. O's were ranked in last place.
  11. Gordon Beckham back to White Sox 1 year, $2M. Dayan Viciedo DFAd. Should the Jays take a shot at him?
  12. Which is what Snider is basically worth. Outside of last season, his numbers were unimpressive, plus he's basically a platoon OF against right-handers with questionable defense in the OF, as Jays fans may remember.
  13. One more note.. a DFA is coming on the O's, as the 40 man was full (likely Jimmy Paredes or Brian Matusz)
  14. True. But will he make the opening day roster, especially with Drake Britton out of options, and Brandon Workman likely getting a bullpen spot unless he wants to start(good lord no..)
  15. WTF? Guess Ranaudo's stock has fallen so much that they traded him for a reliever who has also fallen out of favour in Texas (he was the #4 prospect for the Red Sox, and was dominating AAA).. plus, it also gives them depth in Pawtucket, as Ross has options remaining. It could also mean Drake Britton is heading for a DFA or trade..
  16. Too much. The O's themselves don't want to pay 2 prospects:
  17. Travis Snider to the O's? http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/orioles/blog/bal-orioles-rekindle-trade-talks-with-pirates-about-snider-20150127-story.html
  18. Then he's going to have to hit this year.. Kevin Plawecki is close to the majors. And D'Arnaud's September numbers were inflated by out of contention teams in Miami and Cincinnati, especially the Sept 2nd and 5th games, where he had 3 hits, against a regressing Alfredo Simon(Detroit is going to get BURNED on that deal..) and Brad Penny.. let's see him put up those numbers against real major league talent. And not to mention, he needs to stay healthy.. Even if he hits, he may end up moving to the outfield if the defense does not improve.. he can't throw anybody out(his SB numbers have gotten worse since he reached the majors, likely from trying to frame pitches so well at the expense of defense, too many WP and PBs, and of course, frequent injuries behind the plate.
  19. And Rosario's poor numbers are getting him sent to the outfield/1B.
  20. Wow, O's fans are really delusional.. the FanGraphs/Steamer people aren't so kind, projecting them as a last place team.
  21. Since there was no deal, the Jays don't owe anything to the Orioles. Perhaps the Orioles fans should be more focused on criticizing their cheap-a** ownership who has failed to upgrade the roster while the rest of the AL East has improved(even Machado and Wieters aren't going to help this team.) They're basically praying Davis rebounds and Pearce doesn't turn into a pumpkin.. plus managing without a decent left-handed OF.. or any speed on the roster.
  22. Giants fans disagree. They've got 3 World Series since 2010, while the Dodgers haven't even seen a World Series since Kirk Gibson hit that HR in 1988.
  23. At least the Jays did something... O's fans are pissed off at Peter Angelos right now because he has failed to add anybody outside of a reliever. And the O's really needed to resign Markakis, Cruz, or trade for an OF.. they're going to regress without any moves.
  24. Uh oh...good thing they got Clippard.
