  1. No chance. O's and Yanks have 2 games in hand, and a tough sked coming up.
  2. What people also forget is that Detroit's bullpen is awful.. one of the worst in MLB.
  3. Kratz to the Mariners. Brandon League, the former Blue Jay and Mariner, was DFAd too, BTW.
  4. No surprise to see Redmond gone. Who's coming up? Jenkins? Doubront? Tepera? Someone else?
  5. Only Price and Sale are tough. Anibal Sanchez has been horrible this year, and Verlander hasn't been the same since his return. Plus, we crush left-handed pitching.
  6. And X. Cedeno just gave up the go-ahead HR on the first pitch to Aviles. 5-4 Indians.
  7. Tell that to JP Morosi, who basically said the Rays win the division with him in the rotation..
  8. Matt Moore's been throwing high-80s/low 90s fastballs today, far from what he was throwing pre-TJS. And of course, he's still incredibly wild (3 WP in the game.)
  9. Ugh Rivera.. Indians have a shot to blow this game wide open.
  10. Don't be expecting big names.. MLB rules say that no player on the 40-man roster can participate in the Pan-Am Games.
  11. Well, it was good while it lasted in Tampa.. they'll be in 4th place where they were projected(would've been 5th, but the Red Sox stink.) 4-2 Indians, and the Rays overworked bullpen is at work again. It'll be probably a blowout by the end of this game, considering the last few games. Jays can leap into a wild card spot solo with a win and a Twins loss. And of course, there's still the O's.. if they lose and we win, we're sharing first place in the AL East.
  12. Lindor gives the Indians the lead.
  13. And Moore just served up the tying run. Oh, and he's on a pitch count today.. Rays better score, especially with that taxed bullpen..
  14. No, no and no.
  15. 12:05 actually. It's because Tampa has a flight to Yankee Stadium after the game, plus, this game isn't televised in Florida.. maybe in Cleveland, but not there.
  16. Moore looks incredibly wild 2nd time thru the order-- 2 wild pitches so far this inning, and the Indians are threatening to tie the game.
  17. Don't speak too soon.. the Indians just got 2 hits off of him in the 4th so far.
  18. Also, Matt Moore returns today too.. and he's off to a good start, in a game the Rays need, especially with a season-defining road trip coming tomorrow.
  19. Are you out of your mind? Dickey still gives us length and hasn't actually been that bad.. he just needs run support! Porcello was only a good starter because he had huge run support from Miguel Cabrera and co., and big ballparks in the AL Central. He's gotten horribly exposed in the AL East.
  20. One thing the Rays don't have is money, due to below-expected attendance. And no guarantee Longoria and Loney stay on the team past the deadline, as they could be dumped to bigger market teams in order for the Rays to try to get payroll down to a point they can actually break even with current attendance. They can't afford their current payroll, even with revenue sharing and TV money, when they're drawing Expos-level attendance. And I know they're slumping.. but this is a AAA lineup offensively at best. And yes, the Red Sox aren't out of it.. but they've dug a deep hole, and cannot continue to give starts to Rick Porcello or Justin Masterson. Plus, any chance of contention for the Red Sox will depend what happens in coming weeks, and their July sked is very tough (Astros twice, Yankees, Angels, Tigers, White Sox). If the rest of the AL East get hot, or someone else does (Oakland? Cleveland? Minnesota? L.A.?), Boston won't have a chance.
  21. Likely between the Jays, O's and Yankees. Rays will collapse by the deadline.. their lack of offensive depth and overworked bullpen will destroy them against contending teams. I mean, they've been nearly no hit 4 times in 2 weeks (Estrada and those 3 Indians starters, including Carrasco).
  22. Both the AL East and the wild card.. there's only 6.5 games between last and the wild cards! The NL is a different story..
  23. To the Baseball Tonight guys thinking Rays ownership will go get bats to help the pitching, thinking the pitching is strong enough to win the division.. forget it! In fact, at the rate the Rays are falling, they could be subtracting bats at the deadline because nobody will show up at the games, and this roster lacks the depth to contend vs. the Yankees, Jays and Orioles.
  24. As soon as the Yankees win, the Jays will be in a 4-way tie for the 2nd wild card, unless the Angels come back in the 9th.
