  1. Several would still have held high trade value. D'arnaud/Synder for starters. Plus, the payroll flexibility would still be there. No matter what, they still would have been way better off anyway you slice it. You say they have trouble signing FAs, but you need to have the payroll to even get to that point. Plus, I hardly think a player will turn down money, Drew is still available for instance. Now, I don't see any point to signing him at this point, I don't consider him a long term option and I think this team needs 2 ace SPs ahead of Drew right now but there appears to be financial constraints.
  2. Colby has pop. If he hits like he did in 2012, swinging at curves/sinkers out of the plate, then he's useless too. But he put up good numbers last year, so he's pencilled in as the CF. I would be hesitant signing him long term, which is the only good thing the jays did. Not signing him in the offseason to an extension was the right move considering we don't know which Rasmus will get in 2014. Worse case it costs us a couple of m more if he does duplicate his stats, but could save a lot more if he doesn't.
  3. The only useful thing Gose can do is run and catch balls, is that worth him taking a spot? He can't hit. Would you like a lineup with Goins/Gose in it, those are for sure 2 guaranteed outs.
  4. Lawrie better steal now for not advancing the runner.
  5. Don't even put baseball in the same league as soccer. All those skinny euro players go down and grab their leg as if someone sawed it off every 5 minutes.
  6. For what he's being paid, he should at least pitch decent every other game.
  7. CC aside from last year is a legit #1 too. Ya ok they are not #1s, all those guys should have low 3 eras. I would take any one of them over ANY sp on the Jays.
  8. The Yanks basically have 3 #1 pitchers, and 2 #2 pitchers.
  9. Yanks are going to have some solid pitching. Pineda is looking pretty solid
  10. Well, when Reyes comes off the DL it will be Morrow's turn. They rotate.
  11. The problem is, it's only THAT front office that believes that. I would have replied with something like, 'what kind of fairy dust is being ventilated throughout such office?'
  12. He should have been out by a mile on a decent throw
  13. Yep, he should have had a bigger lead almost all the way to third, he could have easily gotten back if it was caught.
  14. Syndergaard would probably be better than Dickey right now
  15. I was recording Millionaire Matchmaker later, but if it gets to be 6-0, I'm switching over!
  16. Guys it's ok, Morrow and 4/5 of the Jays pitching staff is 'PROJECTED' to have under 4 eras by the end of the year, so all will be well! Nothing to see here.
  17. Right, the Rays have good hitters. But, they were very clean hits, so who else do you blame aside from the guy tossing the ball over the plate?
