  1. lol there's no chance stop. Imagine the last 7 years of the deal too when Vladdy gets cut and gets paid 35m/yr to sit hah
  2. Scary. This won’t be as bad as the Strasburg contract but in a couple of years this will be the most untradeable contract in MLB if he gets over 400.
  3. Really think the Jays are going to be dodging a huge bullet. I could easily see Vladdy dropping off a cliff at 31-32 and this contract being unmovable after. I don't see the Jays competing for a while anyways so carrying him while they will try to rebuild won't make sense.
  4. Obviously Flaherty. Max lost speed on his fb and can easily turn to negative war this year, he’s 40 lol.
  5. Jays Ya, Springer just dropped, just imagine what will happen to Vladdy in his early 30s.
  6. Now 1 more big bat, and Flaherty and we might have a playoff team!
  7. Even if the Jays signed Santander, this is a 4th place team that maxed payroll with a crappy farm. There isn't going to be exciting until we get a new regime change. Looking forward to prospects coming up and building a winner is exciting, the exact opposite direction this club is going in. Sasaki would have patched a weakness in this club and allowed it to make another corresponding move without adding big payroll. Now, they will just try rearranging chairs on the titanic, but eventually we need to admit that this current strategy is a failure.
  8. 4/88 but you can't go higher than that, he's a DH. He messed up rejecting that 7/158 deal, the Mets are offering him half that now lol
  9. Not liking where Alonso is going with salary, he turned down a 3/70 but I heard there was like 10-15m in bonuses/incentives. Don't want Alonso at more than 23m/yr. He's not good defensively and the second his power drops, he can't even hit for avg. I wouldn't go higher than what the Mets are offering, doesn't make sense.
  10. I am sure it's not the ONLY factor. A lot of Americans want to stay in the US. They have family there. Also, you can factor in this club has 0 direction right now, trying to band aid a rebuild by going after more free agents? I mean, there are probably a whole list of reasons why they are skipping TO.
  11. Vlad is super risky to have in his 30s. He could easily drop off a cliff early 30s with that chunky lower half he has. I just wouldn't want the franchise player on this team to be an inconsistent DH. Doesn't make sense why people are so trigger happy to sign him, he's going to cripple whatever franchise he signs with in a couple of years. If the Jays could get 1-2 solid mlb ready guys and 1 higher upside younger guy then you need to make that trade. I think there's more long term upside with BO if he'll take a shorter term deal and we can sign him for like 3-4 years then flip him with a salary that teams will take. No one is ever trading for Vlad once he's going to get that insane contract, that's for sure, unless you eat 25% of that overpayment.
  12. Coincides with Hannukah tomorrow too! Merry Xmas and Happy Hannukah to everyone.
  13. Need 2 solid relievers and a frontline SP and then I'd get behind that.
  14. I don’t think you’ll get as much back as you think. If he had 2 years left or signed then maybe but he’s making 22+m and you only get one year and then he’s hitting FA.
  15. I figured 3/45 was about right. I would rather spend like 8-9m more a year and get Fried without even thinking about it
  16. Hey champ! Curious what iptv you use? Thanks
  17. Bang on! I read these threads and people are trying to find fillers as if this team is competing next year LOL. Ya let's sign Bregman and Soto so the team can get to .500 with still a ton of holes AND have a 300m payroll LOL. Listen, this team will be mediocre for a LONG TIME unless that payroll hits the 320m+ range, so they can add 2 bats and a top/mid starter + 1-2 BP arms. Right now it's a perfect s*** storm, since Vlad isn't even signed and is going to for sure MAX his value with a 0 team friendly deal and they have such a bad farm. Since we know the Jays can't add 100m to the payroll, the team needs to sell. Or we can do a wash/rinse/repeat next year, because the writing is and has been on the wall, just delaying the inevitable at this point.
  18. I need a new one
  19. Hey what iptv did you use? Need a new one
  20. LOL and add like 30m in relievers and 20m more in bench guys, and bring payroll to 4000m and maybe we do it! Listen some people are fantasizing the Jays will go for the playoffs next year, this is a last or second to last place team in the division. I don't know why they are delaying the rebuild, but after reading the delusions of some fans here, I guess they can just go into the offseason saying they are trying for the playoffs again.
  21. Definitely a bottom 5 team with that roster. Think the Jays are going for a much lower payroll too next year, going to be pretty painful. At least Shatkins will be gone, and new management will hopefully stockpile the farm again.
  22. Ya with all the stud prospects coming up it’s a GREAT idea to just add 1-2 free agents and suck even more next year. Solid plan, we can discuss how well it goes next year.
  23. Some ok salary dumps, it’s clear the Jays were interested in shedding salary. Not sure which realistic fans think this team is competing anytime soon lol. But the Jays should have made some bigger deals to gut this team and build for the future. Surprised they kept Vlad, this team probably has the worst farm in the majors and was hoping they’d start the inevitable sooner rather than later.
  24. It's not a good situation, there's no core, no prospects, no great contracts that could be flipped for stud prospects. The only thing they have is a high payroll. Shapiro, if he's pulling most of the strings, won't want to tear this all down. I really hope blue jays don't delay this longer, most of us are just getting older and don't want a bad aid that we know won't work.
