I don't know if this should be in the rage thread, but any time I feel like throwing something through the screen I remember what this team's record truly is and instead become grateful that we had the month of May that we did have. This is essentially the same team that went 74-88 last season and started 12-15 in March and April and is now 8-9 in June.
May was a wonderful, beautiful aberration that was never going to be sustainable and this is why I simply don't buy the notion that we are one elite pitcher/player away from contending for a world series. This is not 1992 or 1993 where a David Cone or a Ricky Henderson are going to push us over the top. Everything but May of 2014 tells us that. In my opinion we need 2 starting pitchers, a second baseman and some infield/outfield bench depth. That's a long way from a Price or a Shields fixing all our problems.
