  1. Looks a lot better than the Berrios deal right now! Watching that FB get massacred most of this season has not been fun. LHH love some of that.
  2. xERA of 4.06 and an xFIP of 4.33 FIP 3.77 and a 5.12 ERA White's not been horrendous for a 5th but he seems like has been giving up basically a run/inning for us! Seems unlucky in some ways BABIP wise, but also lucky on FBs.
  3. Trout would probably have to move to 1B/DH like Albert moved from 3B. The wear and tear of OF D won't help Trout get close to 700.
  4. Pretty cool about Albert. I don't know if anyone else feels this way but the whole Bonds-McGwire-Sosa thing has kind of messed up the enjoyment of Judge HR watch for me. I was so into the big 3 breaking records, but then it all became a 'roids shemozzle. We all knew they were juicing at the time post strike. We'll never know if early in his career Albert juiced. A lot did and never got caught publicly. Some are now in the HOF - Piazza, Pudge, Bagwell etc. Papi was named. Bonds is still the best hitter I've ever seen. No need for asterisks. Stick him in the HOF.
  5. Save myself the heart ache and don't watch games at the Trop. This decade has been so painful. Even if we fight back to tie or grab a lead..."you shall not pass". If we have to play them there in wildcard, we are f***ed.
  6. Not sure why - maybe cause I hate the Yanks - but I just looked at Judge for the first time. 10.7 WAR and a 211 wRC+. Just wild. Vlad 2nd in 2021 MVP with 166 wRC+ and 6.3 WAR. What an insane season.
  7. Very tough one. For all our lofty offensive numbers we have scored just over 3 runs/gm average against Rays, SEA and Yanks all season long. They pitch us tough which means we need to match up or get very hot/lucky to beat them 2/3. Much lower probability without Manoah. Whats matters more? I get that home field equals some advantage and means more $ for franchise.
  8. HE HAD CHOI 0-2 and BB ed him!
  9. Berrios got the K there looking. No call. Brutal. And some people say we need to get rid of the K box - as if that's the issue. Then he gets a pitch 4 inches away.
  10. Vlad recovery in what was looking like a brutal AB. Nice. Let's go Bo!
  11. Exactly. Not 1. Seeing it all, all the way. They aren't even checking. That's what pisses me off so much about no W last night - such a winnable game.
  12. Welcome to the TROP. I really don't want a wildcard series here...like a lot. Berrios has been pretty disappointing. The contact he gives up is obscene and no answer for lefties.
  13. Yep. Jays and him have to figure this out. I thought he would be a sneaky material piece for our pen this year, but no matter who hard i squint at his performance, it boggles my mind how hittable and inconsistent he is with that stuff.
  14. A LHP who throws a bazillion seems like an odd choice for Biggio to face as PH

There can be no doubt first year he is eligible.
  16. That was lots of this stuff. So many games. Gibby is a quirky interesting character. I''ll give him that. But no interest in seeing him in our dugout again. As if he is some kind of savior.
  17. Jays Talk PLUS pod yesterday there us a very interesting interview with Eno Sarris on Berrios and Strip on their "Stuff +", etc talking about potential playoff pitching choices etc. if anyone interested.
  18. LOL. Yep. Just my opinion. Not as enamored with Gibby as most. I'm definitely in the minority OTB. Can't give Montoyo the Buntoyo moniker and then forget about some of Gibby's s***. IMO he looks better in nostalgic revisionist history in large part because we had some success in 15 & 16. (some of it despite him IMO) Gibby would have given Tapia 500 PAs. The 2022 EEEZZZEEEEEKKKIIIAALLLLL.(Buck pronouncing his name always a classic).
  19. Ill pass and stick with JS for now. If not for Andrus dropping the easy throw, Gibby's call for a Goins sac bunt to Beltre of all f***ing people (only one of the greatest 3B ever, who promptly wheels and throws it to Andrus - 100% predictable) probably results in 2 outs and no Jose HR = we lose Gm 5 vs Texas 2015. Also I had enough EEEEEEEZZZZ-EEEEEKKK-IELLLLLLL. Movin' on
  20. 100%. Romano has been very solid if not elite effective for us.
  21. Funny you say that and I feel the same way - but its all anecdotal. From memory Osuna didn't throw quite as hard but both slider and change were effective.
  22. I know. Of anything to complain about Romano can't be one. We rarely talk about how lucky we are to have him considering he is found money that bounced back to us from TEX around Rule 5. I do think he is love with the slider, because its been working. But I'd still like him to use the FB more, especially if he has any command that night. First 2 hits were not his best SL - up and not sharp. Mind you they got a hits off 95 and 98 FBs as well. SL use up from 37% in '21 to 53% in '22. Big move. People think Romano >< Osuna was for us in that role?
  23. Really Sucked. One of those innings. Couple sliders up and good hitting. Hit and run worked and nice job taking 98 the other way. Romano wasn't that bad. Don't know what that 95 was for the last 2 runs. He had been both good and pretty lucky lately.
  24. I know that's your argument. Game of adjustments. In this case I don't that it was the first pitch sliders as much as he hung them both up. And the hit and run cost us with Espy moving to cover. Ruschman hit 98 to the left side. Romano has been lucky and good a lot. Not today.
  25. Angels win! Strength of schedule matters but man we have felt the reality that it's no W guarantee. Good ol' Loup closed out a 2-1 win for LAA.
