  1. Varsho is sure pretty to watch playing the OF.
  2. Great pitch to DJ. Starting to think we might want to pitch around Judge considering he is bashing everything.
  3. Fair enough. Tabby is gone and that was a big improvement. We'll go with that.
  4. I'm a dinosaur already but I have to agree with John on Buck. Bring back Joe.
  5. Berrios doing his job. Time to do some damage to Nestor. Hazel making some side cash off Voltaren. Whatever that is.
  6. Bassitt is hotter than the Rays, but we are a long way from the end of 3/65. Ryu was really good at the start too. Lets hope he keeps a semblance of this up. When all is stuff is working its special. I was at the game last night. Wonky delivery and from 69-94 MPH. Pretty wild. The play he made at 1st shows what a ferocious competitor he is. I like it. If we did get Strip it would have likely been a 1 yr QO overpay. We never made the QO. He has been s*** for SFG so far.
  7. Correct, but you can assess whether it was an overpay or not - Sure as hell not 8 weeks in and always with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight.
  8. I reported on what my friend said and how he looked at it then and now. I was surprised at his initial reaction. Just one fan who knew Varsho and didnt know Moreno. Its anecdotal and means f*** all really. Its what what we do on this Board. We discuss, debate, fight, agree. Most love to talk in terms of winning and losing deals. Its all over sports. Its normal. Its going to be a long time before we know how all this worked out. I agree with your sentiments. In 2/4 years we'll have a real idea.
  9. Both Varsho/Moreno still have that new car smell to their respective teams. LGJ is hot with 7 HR - 1 yr before FA. Most assume, and I do too, that ARZ wouldn't take Kirk. LGJ was a sweetener. The trade rationale was sound I think. We can't just pick a point in time to look at numbers and pre suppose upside for Varsho and assume Moreno has little. If Varsho is a 2 ish WAR guy as projected I'll be a bit disappointed honestly. If his bat is league average his D needs to be plus.vHis D numbers are off from '22. If Moreno has a forever noodle his D will have to be plus. I have a feeling we will be discussing this one for years! lol My friend in Scottsdale is sure thrilled with the deal so far. His first take was that they lost it.
  10. In a battle of the pens we aren’t doing very well. Let’s go Mayza.
  11. Mayza walks the leftie bat. FFS. This is too tense. Our offence is mid.
  12. One of several reasonable reasons/rationalizations for the deal was his loss of power in '22. He already has 2 more HRs than all of last year. He will cool off from a 150 wRC+ but those HRs are on the board.
  13. Behind the 8 ball to get a split at home. We need to focus on what we are doing. Coaches can keep an eye on this BS, but its a side show.
  14. I know and thats good. Respect that. I think this is a 90 ish win team until the start of 2026 at least. At that point I don’t think anyone has a clue what is the realistic window is or whatever one wants to call it. Too many major variables that could change things between now and then. I don’t count on Ricky T anymore than I did Big Nate for obvious reasons.
  15. I hate coming here to watch my f***ing team get beat by the Yankees twice so far so Im not in the right frame of mind.
  16. Optimist meet pessimist, and vice versa. Which one is the realist?
  17. Interesting experience on UP Express last night heading from airport to game. At least I thought so. Sat beside an elderly gentleman JUST off the plane from London heading to 4 games all by himself. Thick English accent. Working class guy who saves up all his $ and heads to Jays games and World Cup etc. Loves baseball, soccer, rugby, cricket etc. Really cool to hear why he likes baseball and how tough it is in England to stay on top it with other sports competing for eyeballs. Jays fans everywhere! Hope he gets a better outcome tonight!
  18. LOL. Ya, one guy yelled in our Box "And Springer has an absolute cannon". I just cant let it go. I go on to my phone. Google Baseball Savant and send him a screenshot of Springer's percentiles including arm strength. Took 5 seconds. Guy looked at it looks up at me jaw agape. He literally had no idea such information existed. Its like I split the atom or took the first step on the moon.
  19. Yes sir. Last night and next 2 games got a Box at RC. Have to do some entertaining. Last night was not entertaining. Watching that with a bunch of casuals, many of whom think they know something about the game, is a test. Had to listen to one telling another that Alek is a “flamethrower with an electric fastball”.
  20. I remember a few of us debating and discussing this before the season. It Was the consensus he would regress substantially. Alek was the god of the casual fan. I don’t think anyone expected this. Funny that he and Bo turned down that extra $50k or so the team offered the them at the beginning of last season. Worked out for Bo. No so much for Alek yet. I don’t know his conditioning program but what I see I don’t care for much. I didn’t even when he was effective. I see irony now in Manoah pitching to Kirky as a battery. If ever there were 2 candidates for keto, sprints, cardio and weights. Watching that last night at the game was painful. Not a lot of options. Do we just keep running him out there and pray?
  21. No kidding. He hasn’t been. He sucks ass this year so far. But it lingers for awhile.
  22. 63!!??!! Lol. That’s insane. At this game. Had such a good buzz prior to Judge dome open. Cocky is fine Alek - when you can back it up.
  23. Xander had a deal already and opted out. Not sure on that comparable. Bo will be 27/28 when he hits FA in 2026. He is already 25. That’s pretty close to end of your 20’s. Especially when you are a below average SS to begin with. I get the argument they are young rare talents. Still a good debate whether they are worth what some think they will want when and if they test the market. Or if we want to go a different route and spend that money in alternative ways.
  24. Cant overlook Richards, Bass and Big Nate today. Solid pen work. Kept us right there.
  25. Until the Manoah start tomorrow lol
