  1. YESSSSSSSS Bow to the E-REX!
  2. Big Cecil would be proud of Prince for that one...f***er.
  3. Olerud > Carter - I''ll forever be grateful to Carter for his 93 smash and other hits but he is one of the most over rated players we have ever had. To appreciate how good Olerud was you have to look back through his stats. He put up some unassumingly staggering numbers for a long time. Should have never sat him to play Carter at 1st.
  4. Yup. Fo' sure. But we do have one and his name is Osuna. When he came in to K 5 of 6 in the first TB game I was cringing a bit. He is throwing a lot for a kid coming off TJ.
  5. As opposed to being our closer with Cecil down? lol Funny though....out of spring training our mgm was saying he has had better stuff than Osuna. He does have good stuff.....command is the issue.
  6. = Not sure I buy "playoff choker" anymore than I buy "clutch hitter". Lots of front liner starters have had rough big outings over the years. It happens. I still remember the Expos getting to Carlton in the playoffs well. I think his arm would be a huge + but I hear you on the concern. You never know though until they play it on the field. Sometimes these major deals flop.
  7. I know its sooo wishful thinking but the thought of Cueto in this rotation makes me stoked beyond words. He was a beast 2014.
  8. I expect nothing from Stro in 2015 and don't want to see him rushed. Leg injuries can really throw a pitcher off in recovery. I remember when it happened to McGowan on one of his many rehabs. I always felt Saunders was over rated for a few reasons. How and when he comes back from the latest set back is a complete wild card. Guy has bad luck.
  9. He was impressive in a small sample size giving us good ABs and hitting the ball to all fields with surprising power. His D looked better than he was billed. Looking forward to having him back. Goins did a decent job filling in and had a great series against the BoSox, but he is a glove.
  10. lol... I like that! And its true. God, he has been a bright spot in that pen. A 20 year old coming off TJ and being dominant. Good story.
  11. I know we can really use this one...but f*** I hate off days. Especially coming off a huge win. Just sayin'
  12. I was a fan of him but Lawrie staying healthy is a big question mark and I don't see him "keeping pace" with JD. This deal wasn't horrible for As but I would still make it all day long if I was Jays. JD is in rarified air value wise.
  13. Im not knocking him at all. He was brilliant the last two starts. Huge for us. Extension at this point? No.
  14. Lol. Half a season left. This is not the next Archer.
  15. That's called rationalizing...perhaps on crack.
  16. Watching Papi at the plate against BAL. Now there is a guy who is struggling with the FB....@ $16mm
  17. Gose over rated on SB speed and D imo. He has a great arm though. Pillar has stolen almost as many bags as Gose and has a better success ratio.
  18. Baseball reference has his dWAR 1.6 and oWAR 1 - overall 2.4 WAR almost half way through season. If he can hit more like he has in June the rest of the year (tall order) and continue to play strong D (his relay through to Kawasaki the night before last was not given the credit it deserved) then this will continue to move up. He fked up last night but that happens. Overall he has given us more than we could hope to expect considering most see his ceiling as a 4th OF.
  19. Argh...say it ain't so. Is it heresy to consider moving him down in the order and Martin up or maybe even Smoak against some RHP?
  20. Redmond is just simply horrendous....and consistently. At least Copeland gave us one good start.
  21. I don't think Hutch is going out and winning games. (especially not on the road) The offense is winning his starts, although props to him for grinding out some innings last night when clearly he didn't have his command.
  22. But he is 7-1. He is pitching to the score. "knows how to win" lol
  23. Such a sophisticated post Tea and crumpets. United Empire Loyalist originally from NS here.
  24. Agree with these comments. His pitch recognition seems off and Im not sure if injuries affecting that. He is swing at a lot more breaking balls off the plate than we got used to seeing since mid 2011. It would be good to see him rest more and DH as much as possible. I don't care if he doesn't run out balls on the ground hard. Id rather he is healthy to mash down the stretch over trying to beat out IF hits.
