  1. Encarnacion has been struggling some by his standards: K rate up BB rate down OPS .760 Wrc+ 110 He has been battling various hamstring, back and shoulder issues since late last year. I realize that pitching and not 0 has been our issue but is anyone concerned about E-Rex OR is the best yet to come for him in 2015? We have seen him go on colossal tears before that would straighten out his production numbers in a hurry. I'm curious what people think.
  2. I don't see how sending either of these guys "fixes" them? Id rather put them in some low leverage situations to work on command before Id send them to Buff. These two are established vets now and are healthy. They will come around imo and be valuable assets again for us. There are a number of teams who would kill to have a Loup and Cecil LHP tandem in their pen.
  3. I think it was LTR on AA and he knew falafel isn't greek - just said it sounds better than mousaka and spanakopita. I only post on this Board during the season but I find it out of hand sometimes. We have had debates about the appropriateness of jokes about the sexual abuse RA experienced and then wrote about. I know Sheldon Kennedy pretty well who does so much to help kids who have been abused. He hears horror stories. I am one who thinks that even if people expose or write about it (and maybe make something off of it...or not), its not really something I find humorous at all ever. I have a 7 year old boy and that makes me over sensitive perhaps. Others have different perspectives and everyone is entitled to their opinion. Now this discussion about racism. Its interesting to me how a baseball based board can light up on these topics. A lot of the commentary is very thoughtful. I've made the odd off color joke in jest I'm not proud of, but I really think this Board should err on the side of caution when it comes to racist and inappropriate commentary on peoples weight (except Navarro perhaps:) ). It wont ever encourage people to participate and it hurts cred. Not to be the politically correct police but its just a slippery slope. BTW Ill take either a starter OR reliever AA!
  4. Well said. I can't blame Gibby...as far as our pitching staff is concerned you can only polish a turd so much. They just aren't very good overall and a lot of people knew that when the season started. If hasn't changed much.
  5. Cant send him down. He is in the wrong role because we have nobody else but despite the last few outings, which have sucked, he is one of our best relievers. Delabar may get a shot to close or Hendricks.
  6. ...well aren't you just so smart lol. So you think we have enough pitching now? um...ok. We may have had enough with Stro but I doubt it. Osuna and Hendricks have been very good although I wouldn't exactly call Hendricks new. He was converted to RHP middle reliever from AAA SP for us last season. I think he made a couple spot starts for us and was eventually moved and brought back. In his current role his V and K rate is up. Unfortunately it takes several reliable arms for innings 6-9 with this staff (apparently Osuna and Hendricks cant pitch every day...who knew?!), and we need to add to the existing group including them imo. Overall Loup, Cecil and Delabar have been ok but id like to see them move down an inning. If we can get a mid rotation SP and a closer we will have a good shot. Wont be easy or cheap to acquire.
  7. Camping in the mountains the last couple days listening to sporadic bursts of reception the last 2 games. Talk about highs and lows. Pen was pretty good during the streak but they are going to keep getting exposed to state the obvious. No new reliable arms = no playoffs. Wont be cheap to acquire as so many others are looking to bolster staffs. I'm willing to give up what it takes with the AL East wide open. This offense cant be wasted. 2015 is our year.
  8. we have the joy of facing Chris Archer coming up. Lets hope that isn't his first assignment at the dish lol
  9. Complete and total ******** not to call a strike because a catchers misses it. Enough dinosaur "tradition" crap.
  10. Ive given up complaining about him (for now). If he hits he is worth it. I like musing about alternative positions he might play for another team but that's highly unlikely to happen. We have no viable replacement now anyway. The simple fact is when he is hitting well he is a major component of our 0 and makes up for that marginal D. He gives us enough with the glove to still W most nights.
  11. I think we play 26 of our last 29 against the AL East(3 against ATL) so if we can hang in there it will all come down to that.
  12. Ya, it was tough but its in the past. 13-2 in last 15 is the only way to look at it and now right in the thick of the AL East. For the most part really entertaining ball. Offense is fine but everyone knows we need a couple more dependable arms.
  13. Great bounce back wins from those tough losses @ NYM. RA digs deep. Good job.
  14. Amen to that. Got to win some series in NY and our grave yard at the Trop. We are playing great ball overall
  15. Probably just had the ol Mormon magic under garments on a bit tight cutting off circulation
  16. I like Gibby making RA work deep. no reason he cant throw a ton of pitches with the KB
  17. Punishing line up.... Some great hitting this inning....line drive machines.
  18. Fantastic slide Pillar....I am rapidly forgiving you for that bonehead baserunning play a couple nights ago.
  19. f***...RA not getting that outside of plate and Colon is.
  20. nice baserunning Martin going back and then booting it to 3rd
  21. the low leg kick Pillar needs to get another hit.
  22. http://news.nationalpost.com/sports/mlb/toronto-blue-jays-place-rookie-pitcher-aaron-sanchez-on-15-day-disabled-list-with-upper-body-soreness http://metronews.ca/sports/1392337/blue-jays-to-skip-aaron-sanchezs-wednesday-start/ At first they said "overall body soreness" ish but they have since narrowed it to upper body. They are being pretty vague.
  23. Really bad news. "Overall body soreness" is a joke. A lot more to this than that.
