    He hasn't been horrible but his K rate is 30% which is crazy for him. He has been chasing more than I can remember since he morphed from E5. Another Tulo K.

    Interesting on Jimenez. Just fizzled. I remember arguing with Gibbers on this board or the old one about him. He was very high on him and d'Arnaud, who finally put up a 2 WAR season at 26.

    So am I. That game last night had the stink of death to it. Felt like we could win it, but weren't going to. Puts me in a sour mood. Unlucky as fk, but we had too many chances we didn't capitalize on. They got lucky in the 10th on the flare and a dribbler and then Thole duffs one. Its early but we got some issues - Thole, Carerra and Cola cant be on an MLB roster for a team in this division who wants to contend.

    Biagini wasn't in trouble. A flare double. A dribbler that would have ended the inning squirts by him. That was a great pitch inside. He pitched around MM (smart) and useless Thole ended it.

    Floyd and Chavez are going to play huge for us this season in long role and rotation at times. Depth.

    With every AB he becomes "more due". The missing production from 1B is hurting us badly.

    His breaking ball was electric to LHH down and in. Swing and Miss. Its in part set up by his 4 seamer up. Hitters have to respect that pitch which makes them more apt to chase down low.

    I hadn't watched his 2014 highlights and was going from memory and fangraphs only. Watching the videos today (keeping in mind these are "highlights") I was struck by how good his stuff looked compared to his last start. Also liked the use of 4S FB touching 94/95 well located.

    I'd give my left nut to see Stro throw a 2 strike 94-95 MPH 4S FB upstairs for a swing and miss K again. Then go back to pounding the zone down. It would make both his FBs and other pitches more effective.

    Stro and Martin have forgotten more about baseball than the collective intel of this entire board. While I am concerned about his low K rate, and I would like to see him use his 4S FB upstairs more, I'm confident they have the desire; talent and brains to figure it out.
