  1. This offence overall has put up some top of the league numbers, but it's pretty easy and one dimensional for the best to pitch to. Not into small ball but would love to see runners moved to third more more often and the odd SF with a runner on 3B and less than 2 out.
  2. At the game. Behind first. Frontal view of that. So obviously late on his load. No way to get to it.
  3. Big Day today! Its been a hell of a nice run - but George and Vlad need to start driving in some runs to sustain it. So many of the ABs with RISP have been weak. Bo won't keep up this blistering pace forever, and others have to step up to backfill when he cools down a bit.
  4. Ya, well I said back in June y'all need to stop hatin' on Bo. He will heat up in Sept when we need him most. (actually I didnt say that but i should have lol)
  5. Holy crap what a game! Bo barely swung in his 2 strike approach. I can't believe that went out!! JBJ catch. Too late to take back any Bo criticism?? Lol. Pay that man! Lol. Omg what a game! Go jays!
  6. Vlad with a seriously bad AB in situation we needed a good at bat. Brutal.
  7. Where is Lowe? Hurt? He has owned us in the past. Be interesting to see how Berrios handles some of these LHH. Choi is another guy who seems to love to hit against us. This is some exciting times these last 20 ish games! Staring out the window at the open Dome from the Delta about to walk over.
  8. Total at bat and thus game changer. Tell me again about the charm of the "human element" and their various "strike zones" behind the plate. So done with them. Consistency on what is a ball and a strike for both teams with robo technology will improve competition and make the game better overall. After a season or two people will only wonder why it wasn't brought in sooner - just like the NL DH.
  9. Catching 3 of them the next 2 days on some biz. Excited and also scared shitless. Rays can be so frustrating to play against. We had a good road trip but losing winnable gms like yesterday is disappointing with sched winding down, and W's vs TEX at a premium. Still a big believer home wildcard matters a lot, especially if we have to go to the House of Horrors.
  10. Not a ton of choice I'd say with big Rays games coming up. They almost had to try out the crafty and cunning lefty.
  11. Great pitch down Mayza. Clutch.
  12. If he could command that it would make that sinker so much more effective.
  13. Nice inning Bass. Love the whiffs.
  14. The Good - Bass The Bad - Pop & Merrifield The Ugly - White
  15. Its great watching this Rays-Yanks series. I've rationalized that we can't lose: 1) Rays win and we get to enjoy an epic, historical Yanks meltdown in progress 2) NYY win and we can move to take top wildcard spot from Rays beating TEX
  16. Tapia approaching 400 PAs still in negative WAR territory is really grinding my gears. EVEN SPRINT SPEED BIGGIO > TAPIA. Its somewhat intangible (BsR I don't fully understand)and when Tabby says it I cringe, but Biggio appears to be an excellent baserunner. Speed, reads, slides and general baseball IQ on the base paths. Tapia runs like a drunk baby giraffe on the bases. While I'm at it on the morning bitches in the midst of an 8-2 run, STOP STOP with the sac bunts. So painful to watch us blowing strikes and outs flailing away.
  17. This sounds so simplistic and I hesitate to believe it, but I have thought it myself and wondered bud. Early in the yr when he hit 3 HRs vs the Yanks one of which was way way inside he ended up on front page of all the NY papers "Who's Your Vladdy?!". Makes you think you can hit anything. Then he had the Nelson game behind the dish where that idiot ump completely changed the zone arbitrarily on him ringing him up. He really hasnt been on much of a tear since those early days. Not that a 130 wRC+ isn't pretty dam good. Could it be that '21 success and all this stuff has just messed him up for now? In '20 we talked about Launch angle, in '21 we stopped and here we are again talking about LA. I agree with others the swing plane is an issue for sure. His gather and timing seems so off and in between so often. Until he does what Judge does, and makes the pitchers come into him and stops swinging at pitchers strikes and balls off the plate its challenging to generate balls in the air hit hard. He needs to do what he did well in '21, stay back and drive balls away...away. Otherwise he will just keep rolling over. When he comes up now in big spots, sad to say I have so little faith in a good AB from him. Hoping he can turn it around in last month.
  18. Sac bunting is almost always 100% dumb to give up an out. It's just math. Its more dumb when someone can't do it asking them to. I blame Schneider for putting it on for both reasons.
  19. The pen has been solid ( can't believe I'm saying that). This offence, other than Bo, needs to pick up down the stretch. The pen can't be expected to never give up runs lol.
  20. Buntoyo still calling the shots. FFS. Can we please stop calling these f***ing bunts? They are dumb, a buzz kill, giving up an out and even worse we can't even do it. How about we actually let Biggio pinch hit there instead?
  21. He was here 2 years and I'm not going to go back and check attendance. I don't remember it that way but ill take your word for it. Suffice to say my point is that It was a pretty f***ing depressing drought between 93 and 2015.
  22. Lol. It was like Teo and LGJ joined to become one at their worst moments = Hicks tonight.
  23. I lived the 86 through 93 period. Used to go to games when in Toronto in lean years. Halliday and Clemens pitching in front of 10000 or less. Delgado hitting bombs for nobody. Depressing. 15 and 16 was the reemergence as a real team/franchise again coast to coast and we got a taste twice of 2 league championships. I'm now impatient and jonsing for that 92 and 93 high.
  24. I'm amazed how satisfied most Jays fans seem to be with clinging to the last wildcard for this team. When this season started I expected Division winners. At least home wildcard. It's no wonder the Leafs haven't won a Cup since I was 2 and fans were happy they didn't get wiped out embarrassed in the playoffs last year. Next year! (Yes. Not over yet)
  25. Fair. You can raise risks on any player vis a vis a long term deal. Even Judge who is putting up a historical season is someone who I would be leery about signing LT at 30 for 30. Despite Bo's recent unconscious heater you can look at his defensive stats and pitch selection et al, and talk yourself out of a LT deal, and the points about Vlad are real. I think with this FO there is a very good chance one of these two are gone for '25 and both are gone in '26, converted into other assets. Even if we do sign them, I'm not sure they are the essential corner stones many of us thought they would be. Any deal would reflect that in its AAV/term. They have put a ton of dough into aging 30+ assets like Springer, Ryu and Gausman. Sunk a lot into younger guys like Berrios and Kooch who just haven't been very good.
