  1. I would counter with Ogando + Andrus + Nathan for Bautista + Oliver. On Condition we can flip Nathan for top prospect
  2. Kawasaki would give team a 2.0 WAR at 2b.
  3. If Jays want a glove SS with no bat one can be had much cheaper than 14 million a year for 9 years.
  4. Andrus fall off in play immediately after signing big contract scares me away from him.
  5. So wasn't Wood and Lawrie...didn't make them a star. Now, Trout or Harper at 20, different story. Can understand the hype
  6. Rasmus must of had a good game to bump this thread.
  7. Injury prone will be his weakness
  8. Similar to them he doesn't have the minor league numbers equal to the hype he's getting. He's .276 hitter in minors, over 1500 PA, fairly large sample size.
  9. I think Profar is over rated. Another Brett Lawrie or Brandon Wood.
  10. No team will offer him north of 14 million after this season and his history of arm troubles. Most I see is a 1 year deal at 5 million
  11. Jays would have 5 prospects in BA Top 50 now, if they had kept the farm system. Syndergaard, Sanchez, Nicolino, D'Arnaud, Marisinick.
  12. We should put Buehrle on waivers? Another team may get desperate? Rosenthal was on FAN590 today saying not much available at this year's trade deadline. A few years ago we put Rios on waivers when everybody said no team would touch that contract...but there was one who did.
  13. Devon White is comparable to Gose. Maybe a cross between White and a Brett Gardner. Because of range and great arm. Neither big offense but will be good WAR. Bat wise Rasmus had edge, but reasons why Cardinals gave him away and he hit .680s OPS here for 1.5 seasons. Rasmus play fell of face of earth second half of each last 2 seasons, I'd like to see his numbers at end of September before claiming this year a good season for him.
  14. Harper and the Trouts are going to be greats. Nobody is putting is putting Gose in that category. They are putting Gose in the Devon White, Lloyd Moseby category. Rasmus had a good half year and then was run out of St.Louis. He wasn't mature, he did nothing here also for first 1.5 seasons. He just now blossomed at 26-27 years old.
  15. 22 years old in Triple A. Look at Devo or Rasmus when they 22 years old?
  16. What's our record with Reyes in lineup and without? I asked because 11 game win streak ended when he came back and we had bad start to season before he was injured.
  17. Some guy called in asking why Rogers started right after break, in meantime he said Madden as one of best managers in game. Wilner flies into him saying Madden had no part of Tampa being 18-4 in last 22 games. Guy just brushed him aside, kept asking why Rogers started, after his rant on Madden for 6 minutes he finally answers his question.
  18. Wilner was painful to listen to last night. At least first caller I turned it off after that. Putting down Joe Madden, I just shake my head. Can't they find somebody better than that? They have potential for vast radio audience.
  19. I've read about knuckleballers being erratic since days of Jim Bouton. Wasn't no research to it, heard piece on Wakefield watching a Red Sox game couple of years ago. Anthopoulos did a lot right early on...but takes another skill to build team into a contender. Different than moving contracts. Which he did reasonably well ie. Wells trade. JP Riccardi did same thing...first 2-3 years looked like a genius. Dumping the Mondesi, Gonzalez contracts. Hinske rookie of the year, etc... As time wore on though it became apparent he couldn't take team to next level.
  20. It may go back to AA never playing the game, but knuckleball pitchers are different breed. Their career are as unpredictable as movement of their knuckleball. You don't gamble 2 stud prospects on players like this. Tim Wakefield one of the most recent knuckleballers, had 1 big year with the Red Sox. Next 15 years of his career he was .500 pitcher with ERA of 4.75. Charlie Hough, who was one of most famous knuckleballers, was career .500 pitcher.
  21. Anthopoulos has lost more trades than he won. Really didn't get much for Halladay. Who at the time was best pitcher in game, then gave Phillies 6 million to boot. Was fleeced on the Dickey trade, Miami trade isn't looking the best.
  22. Doesn't sound like it...said Romero was impressive in last start but AA wants to see few more of those starts. Happ had a good outing, meeting this afternoon to see where his next start will be. Morrow to start throwing soon. Santos impressive also but AA wants few more of those outings to see if he can go 2 innings or 2 games in row. Jays looking to add at deadline not subtract. Now for now, doesn't sound like he is moving prospects.
  23. Talked some on Romero, Santos,
