I've followed this team religiously since 1995 when I came to this country, and I have to say, this is the most unlikeable collection of players I've ever seen in my time as a Jays fan. The self-love is just really hard to swallow, especially for a last-place club. I've lost count of the number of times I've found myself yelling at the TV this year as one of these self-absorbed douchebags proceeds to fire off a 30-second series of oh-so-cool hand signs at the dugout in celebration at hitting a double in a game where we're down by multiple runs and sitting in last place.

This is only just; you don't build a team by trading away your youth/prospects for declining players on the wrong side of 30. A very satisfying outcome, in a way. Just a shame that it had to be OUR team to once again prove this hypothesis. Now, let's start again. Just a shame that it might take us another 4 years to get back to the stage that we were at 8 months ago before someone gave the order to AA to lose his mind.

Go work out/jerk off/listen to music/play a video game/call up a girl or a combination of. Works just great for me. Time to go get some groceries, enjoy the rest of the game, all! =D

Realistically I'd think 4th is the best we could do, and even that would be tough. That's fine though, this isn't the NBA/NHL.

Ended for me when they hit 10-21. But I'm a natural pessimist, which saves me much stress and heartache in situations like this.

Yup. To just suddenly do a complete 180, and with such reckless abandon to HOW said 180 degree turn was executed just REEKS of external pressure from the board and/or Beeston.

Something changed the calculus; "Change of plans, Alex. We gotta win NOW!" HAS to be. That's the only way it makes any sense.

Bingo. It actually makes sense to root for this team to fail right now, as a catalyst to bring on the required changes.

My money is on the Board riding this out for the last 2 years of our "window" (lmao) before cleaning house. Problem is, Bautista and Eddy won't net you half as much in return then as they would now.

I'm still not fully convinced that AAgoing full retard this past offseason was entirely his own doing, the sudden deviation from his oft-stated plan was just too sudden and extreme in it's execution. Methinks the order came down from the new ownership, through Beeston, to "put out a winner NOW". It just doesn't make sense to me otherwise.

Logically, can we really expect this team to be better next year? Dickey a year older, same with Buehrle, Johnson gone, inevitable bullpen regression..... At this point the LOGICAL thing to do really IS to just admit failure and tear it down for as many prospects as you can get. Obviously, they can't do that without firing Beest and AA first, and I severely doubt the Board has the balls to do THAT, plus suffer the inevitable PR disaster/lost revenue due to collapsed 2014 ticket sales, but still, that would be the way to go at this juncture.

Well, there IS that. Personally, I'd rather have the satisfaction of seeing our short-sighted, impatient upper management utterly humiliated, and rightly so, for the sin of having deviated from a sound long-term plan in favour of........whatever THIS is.

And being a few games above .500 achieves what for us, exactly? Apart from partially-inflating our collective e-peens as Jays fans, anyhow......

I was wondering when you were going to post this up, imagine my shock when I checked in 5 minutes ago and saw no GDT. I swear, I for a second thought there was no game today and it was one of those goofy 2-game series. Pure class btw, appreciate the effort you put into these. The only other board that even comes close is the ones people put up on the Real GM Raptors board, and there's like 5 ppl that share the load taking turns doing so, here it's all on you. Good job man.

Elite defence and speed? If only he could somehow manage to post an OBP above .330 I'd have no problem with him patrolling centre for years to come.
