  1. So I guess we can safely declare this rumor dead? It doesn't take all day to announce a signing.
  2. How would they get rid of Smoak?
  3. If the Jays signed Pearce to a 6/200 million contract, almost every one of the Sportsnet comments would be a jerkoff fest, celebrating Rogers for opening their wallets and making a big splash.
  4. Well then by that logic nobody should be banned, and only ignore lists should be used, which by the way don't seem to be accessible at all on mobile devices.
  5. The Jays can't sign him until his agent convinces him to accept less than 5/150.
  6. I wonder if a lot of teams are thinking along the same lines. Lay low this year and save their money for the glut of FAs in 2018. If so, then guys like Edwin might not get the fat contract everyone expects.
  7. Here's a better quality video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUzY0-fbDjc
  8. If it was a walk-off HR here, would it be safe to officially call it the greatest game in baseball history bar none?
  9. Wow, this is turning out a lot like the final game of the 92 world series.
  10. WTF, how does a guy swing and miss a pitch by 2 feet _high_?
  11. That did not look like a foul ball off the bat.
  12. Honorable mention is games 1,2 in Seattle. Loudest jays crowds all year outside of the playoffs
  13. You guys do realize that fans of 29 out of 30 clubs every year have disappointing ends to their season, right?
  14. One of the highlights of the season (among many) was the return of the greatest TV announcer in Blue Jays history after a 14 year hiatus. Though he only gave us about 30 games, with the same coming next year, he delivered some truly world class broadcasts this year. Anyone who suffered through the play by play doldrums of 2002 onward knows what it was like to yearn for the return of Dan and Buck. But everyone knew it was never going to happen; that era of great TV was over, and it was as much of a pipe dream as waiting for an ex girlfriend to come knocking on your door. So, as a toast to Dan Shulman, and hopefully many more years to come, I present the following tribute:
  15. Maybe jays should petition the AL to implement the designated fielder rule.
  16. If Bautista was engaging in cocky trash talking with the jays down 3-1, that would absolutely be unacceptable and fully justify running him out of town. But after putting the comment in the proper context, it appears that's not what happened.
  17. Excellent batting order.
  18. Idk, I still feel like we'll be the 2nd team to come back from 3-0.
  19. If by "little" you mean 40%, then sure.
  20. Home field advantage is worth precisely zero in LCS. Since 1985, number of home games played by teams with HFA: 170 Since 1985, number of home games played by teams without HFA: 170
  21. I believe the 7th inning itself was the 2nd longest of any inning n MLB history. The record is 1 hour 8 minutes, between the Tigers and Rangers in 2004, an inning in which 18 runs scored.
  22. Any guesses as to what the percentage of jays fans will be in the stands this weekend? By comparison, I was in Seattle for games 1 and 2, and it was, at an absolute minimum, 2/3rds jays fans, judging by the jerseys it looked more like 80-85%. I know it won't be nearly that high but I'm hoping it's 35-40%.
  23. Because this is Blue Jays vs. Indians, not Team Canada vs. Team USA.
  24. Yeah guys seriously, find a hotel 20-30 minutes from the stadium and save hundreds of $$s. You're there for multiple days, so who cares about a little extra driving?
