  1. According to BP's D3 column, the Jays are the most overachieving team in baseball right now, at +3 wins. The Red Sox are only overachieving at the rate of 1.5 wins so far, despite being 17-2. The Yankees seem to be the favorite for WC1, while the Jays are right in the thick of things for WC2. Edit: Dunno why the forum software shrinks the images down to nothing. https://legacy.baseballprospectus.com/standings/
  2. Man his swing is so ugly.
  3. Grichuk has an unbelievably ugly swing. Slow, long, and can't catch up to those 82mph balls in the dirt.
  4. I really hope Gibby wasted that review just to give Tepera another minute of rest.
  5. Man, I shouted, coulda sworn that was gone.
  6. Glad to be proven wrong here!
  7. Morales up, well that's it for this rally
  8. Serves grichuk right, the dumb fuk
  9. The batter overtook the runner going from 1st to 2nd. At the very least that should have been one out.
  10. He supposedly recently flew to Toronto, and this in itself somehow justifies rampant speculation of him re-signing? What is wrong with people?
  11. TBH I don't understand why any guy who has life by the balls would want to have a committed girlfriend. But that's just me.
  12. Why are there ANY electrical boxes, padded or not, stationed on a field of play?
  13. Leave the crotch shot whoring to the ladies, fellas. You should be above that.
  14. Buncha whiny dummies on this thread. This guy is unanimously seen around MLB as a potential once in a lifetime player. People seriously believe MLB clubs are angry that they wasted some administrative overtime and office supplies making this guy an offer? They would have been more than happy to have dragged their collective dicks through miles of broken glass just to hear Otani fart through a walkie talkie.
  15. The restaurant analogy only makes sense if the restaurant reasonably believed there was a 1/30 chance your meal was going to revolutionize and turn the restaurant into a dynasty for years to come.
  16. For the same reason that people should know that about Babe Ruth II.
  17. Not that I know the first thing about this topic, but this whole thread sounds like when everyone was listing reasons why David Price was going to sign in Toronto.
  18. Except everything in Canada is 25% more expensive than than the US so it ends up working against him.
  19. Is there any reason to believe at this point he even has minor league potential, let alone major league potential? I ask because I honestly don't know.
  20. Oh great here come the sjws. Keep fighting the good fight, or something.
  21. Hoping the Dodgers get it. Wanna keep as many MLB droughts alive as possible.
  22. I can't believe this. All my non baseball friends are eating dinner tonight, and here I will be sitting at home, starving like a moron. I would order in, but it's going to be very difficult for restaurants to feed all of us in 3 hours.
  23. But then why is it that a 3rd baseman sent into shallow right field for the Ortiz shift is still considered a 3rd baseman for the purposes of scoring? By that logic, couldn't a manager identify any fielder as almost any position he wanted, regardless of where he's standing?
  24. This is the prevailing mentality and it is completely unfounded. There's no evidence that cheap pandering has any net positive effect on fan interest. It could very well have a significant negative effect on overall interest.
  25. MLB, and in particular SportsNet, has a massive inferiority complex. They feel that the game of baseball isn't entertaining enough, so they try to compensate with endless uniform changes, themed days, and panned shots of cheering fans holding beers every time the home team scores a run. We need people in charge of baseball who actually have respect for the game.
