  1. i hope Alford (or Pompey or TEoscar) is given the chance to be the starter in CF. Pillar just gives up way too much at the plate. Plus i think his defense (look at the metrics) is only average and we will see a decline as he ages
  2. he's not in Major league camp
  3. i'm over reacting, but i feel that Tulo doesn't mind being on IR. He has bone spurs for six months and doesn't get it treated during the off season???? Being a professional athlete means you take your physical condition seriously and are ready when the season starts. of course i don't have information to make this evaluation, but it feels like he is playing out the string his bat severely declined last year. exit velocity was pathetic - no way you consider dh'ing him i know this is reactionary and emotional post but show you care please
  4. Can we expect the Jays to add a roster player between now and the start of the season???
  5. ??? Rogers is not part of MLSE
  6. same for Vlad Jr and many of the latin America FA signings
  7. JB was a horrible hitter this year. Numbers showed a huge decline - in ability to pull the ball for the last two months of the season was very evident. Time to say good bye to Jose imo
  8. The speed on this team was atrocious. Two stats stand out - set MLB record for fewest triples over a season - 5. Were second worst hit into double play % with runners at 1 and 2nd at 10.1% (record was 10.6% boston in 2003 it think) Anyway, Kendrys, Jose, Russell, Smoak all huge double play guys.
  9. This off season there is a lot to decide for Aitkens and Shapiro, some easier than others 1. Bautista option - obviously you decline this on a negative WAR player whose swing has slowed. You have to completely cut ties, he is not a part time DH or super bench guy - the bat does not justify resigning him to even a $5m contract 2. Hernandez - is Teoscar the answer in LF? I am willing to let him start the year as the FT LF 3. Trade Donaldson, sign Donaldson to an extension - there is not right or wrong answer here. Vlad Jr is likely going to be ready to start 2019 at 3B. What pieces could you pry from a team like St Louis? The Jays have many needs - CF, RF stand out. Can you get a player and a pitcher who are ready to help, then wait for Vlad Jr and Bo to show up and contribute in 2019 4. Travis - are the Jays willing to let Devon play another season as the starter and hope he stays healthy? 5. Backup catcher - looks to me like the Jays have some options in the minors. Jansen played in Buffalo LY and had a great year. Pentecost is 24 and is getting close to the put up or shut up stage. I believe he has to be added to the 40man roster this off season or the Jays risk losing him in the Rule V draft This is a start list, I know that I have ignored the pitching staff - have to hope Sanchez can come back from blister prob and have a great year

  11. league average bat at middle IF spot does not include 15-20hr.
  12. who would you take as your backups next year Teoscar or Zeke Urena or Barney/Goins to me, its a no brainer to go with the young guys.
  13. look at Bichette's Dunedin numbers - virtually identical to Guerrero. he had a three week ankle injury in August which slowed him down. He's at the same level at Vlad Jr
  14. or at least freeze Betts by looking him back to 2nd. That fundamental misplay allowed the 2nd run to score on a groundout
  15. this is a Milb/Prospect thread isn't it??
  16. that would be a significant upgrade over what the Jays have been trotting out there this year....
  17. do you actually watch him play?? fundamentally he sucks - throws to wrong base, makes TV dives, misses catches on routine flyballs Speed is above average but he is not a good baserunner
  18. trade him Vlad Jr is your 3B of the future. Bo is your 2B of the future. Both will be ready for MLB in late 2019 get prospects that will be ready to go in a similar timeframe
  19. according to BA - Jays are going to sign 5 of the top50 International prospects on July 2. 14. Purdino RHP from Brazil 23. Haraldo SS from DR 32. Melean RHP fro Ven 36. Jimenez SS from panama 38. Rodriguez OF from DR
  20. Carrera is always like this, the more you see of him the more you see how inadequate he is. he is not a full time guy plus wtf is with his inability to catch? ive never seen so many fly balls dropped or whiffed on - brutal. that just has to kill a pitcher's mindset
  21. 6 jays in the BA spring top 100 prospects. Led by Vladdy Jr at 16 and Alford at 34
  22. Not sure if this has been addressed elsewhere (or in this thread), but why has the new CBA held up FA signings so far? are teams hoping with the new CBA that the loss of 1st round pick will disappear? Is there a chance that the compensation for tendered FA will disappear? ie. the Jays won't get two supplemental picks if they don't resign Bautista and EE Is it strictly so teams will see where the salary penalty level will be set?
  23. It's Nov 11th dude
