  1. Within the next month or so the Jays have the following players and pitchers returning from the DL Brett Lawrie 3B Melky Cabrera LF Brandon Morrow RHP Sergio Santos RHP J.A. Happ LHP These guys are not going to stay in the minors except for the rehab stints. Luis Perez (L) will rehab in the minors and may stay there if he has options? When Lawrie and Cabrera come off the DL? Assuming no other injuries, Kawasaki obviously goes down. Can't live with the luxury of an 8 man pen anymore so, one pitcher (likely one with options) will be sent to minors - Wagner? What happens when Santos comes back? Who goes?? McGowen has looked awesome in the last week. He has potential closer stuff. I would not expose him to waivers. What about Morrow and Happ? Best Option maybe trade/trades.... i would look to move Jansen, Oliver and Perez Lots to consider, and there will likely be other injuries in the interim but this is just one of the "problems" AA has in his head right now
  2. We now have an 8 man bullpen Jansen, Delebar, Cecil(L), Loup(L), Oliver(L), Wagner, Perez (L) and McGowen We have 5 starters Dickey, Johnson, Buerhle(L), Rogers, Redmond On the DL we have Morrow, Happ (L), Hutchison, Luis Perez (L), Santos and in the minors we have Drabek, Stilson, Nolin(L), Stroman, Lincoln, Correno, Romero(L) What am I saying? Basically they should trade Jansen and Oliver to make room for the young guys and pitchers returning from the DL. I think that Delebar can do a better job at closer. He is a strikeout pitcher compared to Jansen who is more of a pitch to contact guy. Sell high on Jansen. He is doing a great job, but we have depth in the bullpen. "Young power arms" are there and more are on the way. Don't want to expose a guy live Perez (L) to waivers to make room for a returning Santos. Also Oliver is in his final season - get something for him if you can.
  3. I think that it would be great as well. How does this compare to a "normal" draft the best player available course of action??
  4. Agree, big time. It's gonna hurt if Beede is a top 5 pick next year
  5. Bautista should definitely pass after last year injury
  6. Hope all is well, but that article was dated June 19 and Osuna was DL'd on the weekend
  7. the Jays have $2,093,430 pool available including the 5% overage and assuming Bickford signs for slot the total drops to $1,947,360 if they can not sign Bickford. They can give $100K to each signing in round 11 and highers. Therefore, assuming Bickford is not signed, the Jays could pay $1,073,680 each to Brentz and Tellez if the overage is split evenly between the two players. ($1,146,715 if Bickford signs). That is second round money for 80 ranked Brentz and 59 ranked Tellez (according to BA)
  8. Oh oh, look out Sanchez gave up 7 runs on 6 hits while throwing 3 innings today...... Injury resurfaces???
  9. So Girodo and Boyd have agreed to terms also?
  10. Osuna is getting lit up again today. 5 hits and 4 runs in first inning. 2 strikeouts though He doesn't seem right since the time off. Can a TJ announcement be coming?
  11. i obviously don't know how to imbed the twitter feed AA signed 4 today - to be announced later
  12. Looks like the Cubs are starting to spend all the cap money they accumulated
  13. Jim Callis @jimcallisBA At least one, maybe both if plans work out. @Mikeleelop: any chance #BlueJays can pull together $ to sign Tellez and/or Brentz?? #mlbdraft 10:48 AM - 02 Jul 13 ________________________________________ Reply to @jimcallisBA Retweet Favorite
  14. Toronto Blue Jays The Blue Jays signed the best prospect available last year, shortstop Franklin Barreto, for $1.45 million. Barreto is playing well in the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League, while Dominican shortstop Richard Urena, a $725,000 signing, is off to a solid start in the Dominican Summer League. Barreto and Urena were both good hitters who projected to stay at premium positions. Venezuelan shortstop Yeltsin Gudino fits that description and looks like Toronto’s top target. He should sign for at least $1 million. The Blue Jays are tied to another Venezuelan player from Carlos Guillen’s academy with an advanced hitting approach, outfielder Freddy Rodriguez. The Blue Jays have a $2.81 million pool, so they could sign both players and still have $1 million left to throw around.
  15. Jays guys were Yelton Gudino SS Ven and Freddy Rodriguez Of Ven. No announcements on either. Signings could be delayed if team is trying to negotiate a trade for additional international cap $$. Can't trade for more cap if you have spent you full allotment. Need to trade before
  16. Yes. I was looking at Bluefield box scores. I jumped him a level Thanks
  17. Where is Barretto lately? Hasn't played since June 29
  18. BA has Jays as the "expect to sign with team" for two prospects 8. Yeltson Gudino, SS from Venezuala 6ft 155lbs 18. Freddy Rodriguez OF from Venezuala 6-1, 180
