    Dunno about that. Rasmus probably thought maybe because he was in very shallow CF. JPA had absolutely no chance at getting that base runner taking the extra base, and the risk of doing what he did, that was no way worth the throw.

    I'm not entirely sure, but I know the one you're talking about. I think that one was called the spiderman video, and the CFer was running from LF-RF, not RF-LF like this one. I'm not 100%; just running off memory.

    Promise not to offer a qualifying offer for 2015? Cool. Offer him 1yr @ $5MN or something around there and then walk. He doesn't want it, let some other team deal with this guy. Despair this fella. Not sure other teams will offer him $14MN + no QO, so I think his demands are going to drop further. If not, f*** him. For the past two weeks or so, I've already had the expectation to start the season with what the Jays already have in-house, so this doesn't change much.

    AA needs to cool things down. First despaired Bean Stringfellow and then now despairing Santana like nobody's business. AA is a ninja.

    While JJ is an injury risk, I really don't trust Santana's elbow. I'm surprised with the amount of times it's been injured he hasn't had TJS yet. Maybe this year. He's w/ the Jays afterall...

    I think thehurl referring to AA in that post. He was replying to BTS' comments about AA. While you do have a valid point, most of us here believe it's not worth it given Santana's more spotty track record and how the Jays now have to surrender a 2nd round pick valued around $5-10Mn, and then tack on the incentives if Jays sign him. All of this could have been avoided had AA offerred JJ a QO. At the very least saves us on incentives, saves a 2nd round pick and if JJ signed elsewhere, Jays would have had a 1st rounder. That's the issues a lot of us have here. But you have absolutely every right o prefer a certain pitcher over another.

    Santana had a NEGATIVE 1 WAR. Meanwhile JJ had a POSITIVE 0.5 WAR during their worst seasons. All within the past two seasons, btw. EDIT: Meaning Santana would probably have helped his team two fold had he not even pitched during that season.

    Well, f***. I'd rather have JJ on the same terms and save a second rounder while I'm at it. Ughh... at least it's better than standing pat.
