  1. JPA in Texas could be dange... nah!!
  2. Vid on him pitching while at Boston College. But just watch the beginning and his long toss, lol.
  3. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/if-stroman-is-a-reliever-was-he-worth-where-he-was-drafted I'm surprised this hasn't been posted yet, so I thought I'd post it here. The author does a fantastic job summarizing everything, imo, I agree with what he says. Interesting to note is that I thought there would have been more very successful players out of the first round drafted as RP, but they still have a high rate of players making it to the majors. Pretty easy to grade, good frame, mechanics, makeup, two or more plus+ pitches. I think AA should hang on to Stroman because if he makes it to the majors, his value is going to get a lot higher. Once he establishes himself as a player, then I think you should trade him. That's probably where his highest value is going to peak at. I adore shorter players, but I just don't think a guy 5'9" can handle the 200IP+ workload for more than maybe... two to four years at peak levels? I just can't see it happening. A frame like that going through the rigors for more than five years without breaking down too much. That's not to say that it can't happen, but he would have to some kind of freak of nature and maybe aided with some good s*** from VictorConte. Close enough height to Lincecum, but Stroman seems more built and doesn't have freak mechanics, so tack on a couple more years as comp? Interesting topic.
  4. The Cubs have a pretty fun FO to follow, if that interest you at all.
  5. They may take away Tinnish too and f*** us over even harder.
  6. The Shark? Who else? I hope he's looking into Skaggs after the Cespedes deal fell through.
  7. downward plane towards the plate i think. his short stature doesn't help him vs. pitchers who are taller and thus a more downward plane from release point to the plate.
  8. Lots of analysis to be made!
  9. I think GMs are now just making trades for the sake of just making trades
  10. I'm just glad someone still likes the farm and some of the prospects there his top10!
  11. As are busy. I wonder if this means they really didn't believe in Choice longterm. Maybe like a Michael Taylor
  12. f*** braun
  13. Dickey is a smart and open guy. I wonder if he's come accross these articles and his thoughts on it. Maybe someone send him a a tweet?
  14. Even if this might be the peak of the blog, I'm really glad and fascinated to see how this community on a whole has evolved. From the good old days on that s***** ass MLB forum, where we had to have one, if not the most active MLB board.. maybe even on the internet for strictly following baseball. All sorts of hilarious characters, baseball intellectuals, regulars and the dogg. But eventually that place ran it's course and this new board started a new boom. A lot less trolls, ignorant noobs lead to a much better platform to communicate. Now this blog and JFaS killing it with publicity in the baseball world. Pretty unique community here. We'll see where this goes.
  15. JFaS is like a popup prospect for this board.
  16. JFaS blowin up!!!
  17. It's that community of like minded people that breed others like JFaS. Take the bad w/ the good.
  18. I hope NJH is busy formulating a new baseball equation... it's the only way to sustain and gain daily hits.
  19. What about a quick little bio? Where you always like a math standout in school? When did you decide to marry both math and baseball together? nvm, found a little bit on the site. cilcking your name brought me to your articles instead. You only started after watching moneyball?
  20. We're going to miss you buddy.
  21. Don't forget the option years. JFaS, whatever team decides to hire you, stay away from the Red Sox or else I'll hate you forever.
  22. Too bad the Jays can't even take advantage of Canadian talent because they don't want to follow/understand sabermetrics. OH jays... maybe the next FO regime...
  23. Better lock him up AA ninja style before it's too late!
  24. How many years until JFaS gets hired away from an MLB team? Unfourunately probably not the Jays.
