  1. They said on the broadcast that reason Goins isn't @ SS is because he's just decent/average/adequate/solid there. But he's exceptional playing 2B. Good game for Diaz though. Hopefully he gets hot while Reyes is out.
  2. AHHHHHHHHH BUCK!!! AHAHAHAHHAHA mid-season form already
  3. Odd how he would leave SN to join up with Bleacher Report... maybe him deciding to leave SN was a suggested/recommended move from someone high up...
  4. I've read through this thread, and I still can't find one person who claimed to have seen Gomes' "breakout" or saw last season's performance coming. However, fans have every right to pick apart this trade. It's not up to the fans to come up with scouting reports on every player and then to analyze the trade for the organization. That's on the org. But fans have the right to look back on a trade and decide whether it was a good trade for the org when all things are considered. It's the FO that is leading this team through drafts, signings, extensions and trades. And fans can create opinions whether or not this FO is leading this team in the right direction. And looking back, trading TDA+ and letting JPA assume the catcher's role only to rightfully release him, while Gomes' "breakout" occuring... it doesn't look like the Jays made the right move at all when it comes to the catcher position. And having this gaping hole at catcher during our "window of contention" while letting go a player that could have really helped us, does look pretty f***ing awful for the Jays' FO. The pressure is on.
  5. Pretty surprising. One would think any club would wait at least one more full season before extending him. They must really love this kid.
  6. For anyone who thinks this is bulletproof, think again. I bet you trainers out there are already three steps ahead of this.
  7. Some nice improvements. I like the urine and blood tests during each season for playres already caught. I also like the carbon isotope testing. But they really need to improve the offseason testing. I mean 350 urine tests only during the offsesson? This is where players make the most gains; during the offseason. Only using the 25-man roster x 30 MLB teams = 750 players. 350 urine tests does not even equal to half the players. ANd it's urine testing, not even blood. Predetermined tests like ST testing is non sense. If you already have the dates listed and known, it's like passing a test in school. Only the disorganized and dumbasses fail. Again, random offseason testing is where you're going to try and catch the cheaters. And preferrably using blood testing. And I'm not so sure how practical "random" in-season testing is. I'm sure players are tipped off here and there. But it's a step in the right direction.
  8. Should have sent that memo over to the Angels' brass. Pujols was 35 when he signed that contract
  9. Cashing in. Great for Miggy. Seems like these types of contracts are the norm to lock up the game's elites these days. If you want him, you have to pay him. Plain and simple. But for some reason, I think MIggy might come close to breaking even on value. I think this guy is gonna hit for the rest of his MLB career. He's just that type of breed. He'll definitely regress later on, but I think he'll still be a very good player. They just better hope he doesn't sustain a terrible injury or develop drug and weight problems again.
  10. I guess that's one of the underlying reasons Arod was banned for the entire season. It was at lesat his second offence. His first offcial offence was admitting on ESPN to the whole world he was a cheater. This rule was probably in the works for a while.
  11. LMFAO. I didn't see this coming. I'm probably going to get slammed, but I liked the extension at the time and I'm still OK with it now. But him starting and for the home openner is kind of funny. That's the blue jays for ya... I'm still rooting for McGowan though! Who doesn't love a comeback story?!
  12. HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH OMG!!!! That's f***ing hilarious. Epic phail if I ever saw one.
  13. hahah nice title
  14. "Learned from all the past mistakes with other players." And for the record, I really thought JJ was gonna be a monster with the Jays.
  15. They really love this guy. You know, I think it's pretty clear now the Jays only go for the guys they really believe in. The guys they think can really make a huge impact on the team. Learned from all the past mistakes with other players.
  16. Romero? I'm sure it can get worse. Who knows with Hutch though... I wouldn't be entirely surpirsed if he pitched like a #2-3 this year.
  17. JPA the next pudge
  18. I think I figured it out. JPA seriously think he has an 80 arm. He thinks he has a machado-like arm. I don't think there is any other explanation.
