  1. How are people feeling on their updated rosterbation? Obviously lots of new information that's changed up the roster significantly. Major injuries, some players not performing as well as expected, others exceeding expectations. Given that we've got 50-ish games of information now, I got my ideal 26-man roster below (taking into account injured players that will realistically return): Lineup: 01 | CF | George Springer 02 | 1B | Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 03 | SS | Bo Bichette 04 | 2B | Marcus Semien 05 | DH | Teoscar Hernandez 06 | CA | Alejandro Kirk 07 | RF | Randal Grichuk 08 | LF | Lourdes Gurriel Jr. 09 | 3B | Cavan Biggio Bench: B1 | CA | Danny Jansen B2 | IF | Santiago Espinal B3 | PH | Rowdy Tellez B4 | PR | Jonathan Davis / Joshua Palacios Rotation: SP1 | L | Hyun-Jin Ryu SP2 | R | Alek Manoah SP3 | L | Robbie Ray SP4 | L | Steven Matz SP5 | R | Ross Stripling / Nate Pearson Bullpen: RP | Julian Merryweather RP | Jordan Romano RP | Ryan Borucki RP | Rafael Dolis RP | Tyler Chatwood RP | Anthony Castro RP | Joel Payamps RP | Anthony Kay

  3. DR team for the Olympic qualifiers is basically the 2013 Blue Jays.
  4. This game is full of BABIP bullsht, lmao. Both hits have been cheapies and both Bichette and Vladdy got put out on absolute rockets.
  5. Wasn't that worried about Stripling after Siddall broke down the changes in his delivery in the pre-game show. He was great last time he pitched and knowing there was a reason for it made it more reassuring.
  6. It is. I had Civale in there first based on the Sportsnet game page but then I saw Hentges in the MLB Gameday feed, on the Yahoo Canada lineup and in the pre-game preview writeup, so I switched it. I should have just trusted Sportsnet, haha.

  8. How could anyone resist such game? My panties are already on the floor.
  9. How is Statcast's Outs Above Average calculated and why does it rate Vladdy as such a poor defender? Any metric that calls Vlad a bad defender is dead to me.
  10. That was one of the worst at-bat decisions I've ever seen.

  12. I f***ing love Manoah's energy. Most pitchers are just dialed in and anxious to get back out there, this guy is just having fun. Chatting up a storm with Springer with his back to the field, lmao.

  14. Who knows, maybe Semien is more open to talking contract than we think. This upcoming free agent shortstop class is the most hilariously busted class for a single position maybe in the history of baseball, and that's even with Lindor already taking himself off the market. There will be a ridiculous amount of competition for shortstops in the coming market. 2022 Free Agent Shortstop Class: Francisco Lindor Marcus Semien Carlos Correa Trevor Story Corey Seager Brandon Crawford Javier Baez Miguel Rojas Jose Iglesias Freddy Galvis Andrelton Simmons
  15. Since the Blue Jays were rained out, this is now essentially an off-day. I had another topic in mind for today but I'm pushing it off because I liked this suggestion from G-Snarls as a discussion point. The Toronto Blue Jays, perhaps more than any other team in Major League Baseball, have a lot of very interesting extension cases. Between young stars like Bo Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero Jr, players trying to prove they're the real deal like Teoscar Hernandez and Steven Matz, journeymen that look like potential breakout candidates like Julian Merryweather and Tyler Chatwood and a legitimate expiring free agent in Marcus Semien. If you were GM and every player on the roster were willing to talk extension in-season, which of them would you extend? Make a list of players you want the Jays to give longer contracts to and include the terms and dollars you think would ideally get it done.
  16. Castro gave up 2 runs yesterday. If he did the same thing today, the same people complaining that he didn't pitch would be complaining that Montoyo went to him again after he had a s*** outing in the previous game. He absolutely misused Romano yesterday just like he made s*** decisions in almost every game during that losing streak. But I don't care about yesterday when I'm looking at today's game. There's literally nobody in that pen outside of Romano or Chatwood that I trust right now so I'm very glad he went with the stress-free option to secure a winnable game after the bullpen has s*** the bed all week.
  17. Yes, I'm perfectly fine with a rested Romano coming into a 5 run game a day after their garbagetime relievers gave up a 7-spot in the 11th inning. Their bullpen has blown like 80 games in a row and they needed to get this win. I think you guys are forgetting that whoever the Jays bring in has to face at least three batters. The Jays used four relievers not named Romano yesterday and the best of them gave up 2 runs. If Montoyo brings in some shitter that walks the bags loaded, the Yankees are one swing away from making it a game. At that point you bring in Romano anyway, so I'm fine with them skipping all the nail-biting, taking the easy win and getting the morale bump that they desperately need.
  18. Credit where credit it's due, flawless management by Montoyo tonight. Not exactly hard to manage when your starter does as well as Matz did but my expectations are so low that I'm actually impressed for once.
  19. Yankees get their first guy to second base all night after a 4 strike at-bat.
  20. Be careful with that. Blue Jays relievers literally gave up 14 runs yesterday.
