  1. First time this season I've seen an injury report where the other team's list was longer than the Blue Jays.
  2. Game #85 Blue Jays (Manoah) @ Rays (McClanahan) Schedule | Standings | FanGraphs | News | Video | Spotlight | Twitter | Reddit | Instagram
  3. I don't know if I want to move Biggio unless it's in a trade for a guy like Jose Ramirez. Sort of that Lawrie + prospects for Josh Donaldson type move.
  4. lol, remember when everyone was dumbfounded that the Astros reached for some Puerto Rican kid called Carlos Correa instead of picking Houston-native Mark Appel 1OA? The immediate consensus was that they purposely reached to get a below-slot player. Of course, they did sign Correa below slot, and used the savings to pick up Lance McCullers Jr. in the second round. But shortly after the pick, we immediately saw reports come out that the Astros actually considered Correa the best player available. Obviously they still made the mistake of taking Appel 1OA the next year, but what a f***ing call that turned out to be for them in 2012. They got 35 fWAR out of Correa and McCullers and Appel has yet to throw a major league inning.
  5. The Blue Jays have the second most valuable farm system in baseball according to FanGraphs "future value" farm rankings. But it's a bottom third farm system btw.

  8. This might be Bauer's best chance of getting out of this situation scot-free. https://radaronline.com/p/trevor-bauer-sexual-assault-investigation-new-evidence-mlb-pasadena-police-fernando-tatis/
  9. It's not even implied. She specifically tells him "that was a game changer" and that she's never been more turned on in her life. He asks her to clarify if she means "when you were going out or when you woke up" and she confirms "going outttt." Trevor Bauer is a f***ing douchebag and a moron but the point of contention here that his side will probably present is that she explicitly told him she enjoyed being choked out to the point of unconsciousness. Her side will likely argue that the next time they met, they agreed on a safe word, and he "put her out" before she could use it. Now, there's a bit of an oxymoron here in establishing a safe word while agreeing on activities that can make someone unconscious, but what I don't understand is why this f***ing troglodyte wound up wailing on her and scratching her up. I think that's where the case will favor the girl. Even if she was into choking (a lot of people are, for whatever reason) and she was into it to the point of unconsciousness, a guy punching the hell out of her while she's unconscious and penetrating her anally without asking for permission is a lot further than that. I haven't commented on this whole thing at all up until now and I won't comment on it again but from my perspective here is my (probably ********) guess on what happened based on the information we have so far: Bauer and the victim engaged in overly rough play that resulted in him choking her till she passed out. She liked the loss of control and the feeling of blacking out so she told him she wanted more, but she was also cognizant of the fact that rough play to that extent can be risky, so she sought to establish a safe word. The girl, being an idiot, didn't realize a safe word is useless when you're unconscious, and Bauer, being a f***ing nut job, got his little peepee so hard from putting her out the second time that he lost control and beat the s*** out of her for some reason. TL's premature and totally worthless verdict: Regardless of the ground rules and understanding established beforehand, Bauer is a depraved and sick individual that should be punished for a) taking it too far, without permission, with someone who was unconscious, and being a f***ing moron. Even if he didn't punch her, scratch her and likely anally rape her, the idea that he's dumb enough to engage in choking a random to the point of unconsciousness, when that activity alone can easily result in the person accidentally dying, tells me he's too dumb to function as a regular member of society.

  13. Lineup: CF | George Springer 1B | Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 2B | Marcus Semien SS | Bo Bichette DH | Teoscar Hernandez CA | Alejandro Kirk LF | Lourdes Gurriel Jr. / Corey Dickerson RF | Randal Grichuk 3B | Cavan Biggio Bench: C | Reese McGuire IF | Santiago Espinal PH | Corey Dickerson / Lourdes Gurriel Jr. PR | Joshua Palacios Rotation: SP | Hyun-Jin Ryu SP | Alek Manoah SP | Robbie Ray SP | Ross Stripling SP | Steven Matz Bullpen: RP | Jordan Romano RP | Julian Merrweather RP | Ryan Borucki RP | Adam Cimber RP | Tim Mayza RP | Trevor Richards RP | Jacob Barnes RP | Castro / Payamps / Saucedo This is one possible iteration of how I'd set the current roster if everyone were at full strength. If Merryweather and Borucki come back at full strength, this team is shockingly close to having 0 holes from 1-through-26. The lineup is obviously godlike but I'd ideally like to see Grichuk moved and replaced here. I'm not a fan of the Pillar-lite playstyle and he makes a lot of dollars that could be repurposed in the monster free agency class coming up. For the time being, I put Grichuk in right field, platoon Gurriel and Dickerson and play Teoscar at DH. Whenever Palacios gets healthy (hopefully soon), I like him more than Davis. I think a bench of McGuire, Espinal, Dickerson and Palacios is incredibly good and fills all the roles you need it to fill. With revamped Stripling, surging Manoah and first-two-times-through-the-order Ray, this is actually a very potent rotation. Real-world Matz is a little more volatile for my liking than his peripherals would suggest but he's more than serviceable as a 5th starter. Regarding prominent Jays players that are missing from this list, I'd like to see Jansen traded unless they can get something decent for McGuire and Dolis and Chatwood are f***ing garbage and have no place on my team.
  14. He also acquired Carl's Jr., who looks less rosterable but still shows that they've been as proactive as they can be in trying to improve the team.
  15. Cimber and Richards are both 2025 Free Agents. Pretty wild that Atkins turned Tellez and Panik into two potential bullpen mainstays each with 3.5 years of control remaining.
  16. If you ask me, I've felt like this team has had a hole in its heart ever since they traded the father of the team in Joe Panik. To be frank, it's probably why they've lost so many games since committing the senseless tragedy of trading him. To be frank, you need a quality journeyman like John McDonald with veteran leadership if you want to win and the Jays got rid of the only guy they had that fit the bill, to be frank. If you ask me, maybe the team thought the trade was necessary after Ross Stripling utterly humiliated Panik in front of a national TV audience but if you ask me, Stripling is the one that should have been traded. To be perfectly frank, Ross Stripling is likely a cancer. If you ask me, they should offer to trade him to the Angels for Drew Butera. To be frank, Butera would be a good get because he can be a backup catcher to teach the young guys how to play the game the right way. If you ask me, the fact that he's 37 years old and has played for five different teams tells me he will automatically bring a lot of veteran presents to the table and can help get this team back on track. As a bonus, Butera has been a negative WAR player 9 times in his 12 year career, which means he is against war and most likely makes love not war because what is war even good for absolutely nothing. If you ask me, war is bad and we should strive for peace. But I'm just being frank.
  17. You're right on the money, my friend. Biggio alone probably doesn't get you the quality veteran presence and middle-of-the-road bullpen arms you need to compete for a championship. After all, that would be three players for one and Biggio isn't even a major leaguer according to renowned baseball expert Keith Law. It makes sense to shift the infield around and trade Bichette in that context.
  18. Ah, that makes a lot more sense. Given the context of going all-in this year, I'd much rather have a package of talent resembling something like Rafael Dolis, Tyler Chatwood and Joe Panik than an All-Star shortstop with 2.6 WAR in a half season of games.
  19. Come on, man. If you get the chance to trade a potential franchise cornerstone 23 year old All-Star shortstop with 4.5 years of control for two middle relievers and a journeyman like John McDonald, you do it. You don't even think about it, you just do it. It's very likely that you may never get a godfather offer like that again so you have to jump on it if you get the chance.
  20. I would not tunnel in on Kris Bryant right now, especially if it requires significant assets. Sure if you can get him cheap on a rental you do that to contend this year but anything long-term right now doesn't make sense because there will be countless possibilities in free agency this year. Maybe Arenado opts out and you go in on him. Maybe Springer sells Correa on coming to the Jays and they move their infield around to accommodate that. Maybe they sign Castellanos, move Springer to left and bring Martin up for CF and they trade Gurriel, Grichuk or Biggio for a 3B that isn't a turnstile on defense. Maybe Moreno gets enough reps at 3B by the end of the season that he looks like he can play there and suddenly you're going into 2022 with him. Best free agent class of all time. Lots of promising prospects in the system that can emerge between now and then. Literally countless possibilities.
  21. lol I'm watching the game in the car. Called that Grichuk homer.
  22. lol sorry bud, I've been on vacation for my first wedding anniversary since Wednesday night. Went to Mont Tremblant. Been trying to keep up with GDTs on my laptop. I'm actually on the way back today and made this thread on my tablet which is why the GDT has no graphics lol.
