  2. As terrible of a poster that I think BBBBBB is, this post made me laugh harder than I should have.
  3. Did people really click "favorite" on a tweet that actually contained the words "Totes adorbs"? f***ing hell.
  4. Forgot about King Kal. Was mainly recognizing the similarity between Pompey, that other naked dude, and the BK Burger.
  5. http://i.gyazo.com/1a0163f7360e616e360b1adf3d9e5009.png The Blue Jays have claimed righty Matt West off waivers from the Rangers, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca tweets. Toronto designated fellow righty Cory Burns to create roster space. West, 26, had been designated by Texas recently to clear room for the signing of Juan Carlos Oviedo. He reached the bigs for three outings last season, but spent most of the year at Triple-A. Across 56 2/3 innings, he worked to a 3.34 ERA with 10.2 K/9 and 2.9 BB/9. The 27-year-old Burns, meanwhile, also pitched last in the majors with Texas. He worked at Triple-A last year for the Rangers and Rays, totaling 63 2/3 frames with a 4.95 ERA and 8.2 K/9 against 2.3 BB/9. Toronto claimed him off waivers in late September.
  6. Really loving the Jays' waiver pick-ups lately.
  7. Yeah I edited out the quesiton because I assumed Buehrle/Dickey themselves would show up on the list a whole bunch of times. Forgot about how terrible Zito was. Looks like my hunch was accurate though, doesn't seem like anyone topped Buehrle/Dickey's 2014 performance, at least in the pitch f/x era. Wakefield/Moyer probably just as valuable in 05, but nobody considerably better. For anyone confused, my original question was whether or not the pitchers with the two slowest fastballs in the majors had ever been as valuable as Dickey/Buehrle were last year.
  8. I made a fanboy twitter-mongrel-esque tweet about it to hopefully get him to notice the article, and then he subsequently favorited my tweet and two others'. http://i.gyazo.com/8d39bf4fb19fadd0d6066775c22b0a65.png
  9. The two pitchers with the absolute slowest fastballs in the majors last year (Buehrle and Dickey) provided their team a total of 5.6 wins (6.3 if you use RA9 for Dickey).
  10. I think that the best thing to come from this article is that Stroman actually read it. I always appreciate when a player is curious and constantly looking to improve, and seeing concrete evidence support what he probably already had a good idea about over the season is probably going to give him even more confidence with the pitch and any other potential improvements he might think he can make.
  11. I think the Jays are going to sign Shields.
  12. No, not really. If they break their limit and handcuff themselves for the next two years for one guy, it's not better than actually hitting slot for three years.
  13. How does the poll question not already embody everything else as it is? Would you rather employ Tanaka or Stroman? Well one guy costs 20M+ and has some pretty serious TJS concerns. How do people assume that the question doesn't include salary, injury history, and all other variables? I didn't ask "Who is the better pitcher?"
  14. Oh okay. I asked the same question two weeks ago, and 22 people on this board (out of 58 voters --- 38%) picked Tanaka.
  15. It probably needs to be asked again... Tanaka at 22M or Stroman at 500K?
  16. If they're considering obliterating their spending limit, they need to pursue this guy. Looks like baby Bautista in BP. Great name too.
  17. As much as I ridicule Hawk, if you were a White Sox fan, you would love him at that moment. People appreciate someone who stands up to ********, and that was a totally ******** call. He was voicing the exact feelings that every White Sox fan was probably thinking at that time.
  18. I just remembered that Russell Martin was the Yankee that accused the Jays of stealing signs on him. Ha. Funny.

  20. Yeah I don't think it's a universal truth either. There's always variables like RAJ that can't be compared to the norm, so I'm sure there's an ******* out there that would hold a grudge and refuse to deal with the team in the future because they flipped his player to a division rival, but I'd like to think that would be a pretty rare exception and most smart executives would understand that it's just business.
  21. Im dumn. *The Jays gave Napoli to the Rangers for free, and the Angels were still willing to talk to them about Kendrick.
  22. The Jays turned around and tossed Mike Napoli to the Angels, and the Rangers were still willing to give them Kinsler for free. I don't think this is a thing.
  23. Uhhh, I think the Oakland you're referring to is the same Oakland that just gave Butler 30/3
