  1. Now why would you go and do this? How in the world is he supposed to carry on his narrative now?
  2. a) he said this weeks ago who gives a flying f***?
  3. I've always loved the idea of trying to find hidden value from the international market. The Mariners got an absolute steal in Iwakuma in the same way, another under-the-radar'ish guy from the Japanese market that didn't receive nearly as much fanfare as he should have based on how he turned out. On a 3/10 deal, that's a lot of upside for a very low risk. He's relatively old, but players from Asian markets that have come over to the Majors have a pretty decent history of aging gracefully (Kuroda, Iwakuma, Ichiro, etc)
  4. I think they're just trying (and failing) to make fun of WAR.
  5. Crazy f***ing day for the Dodgers... If this trade gets done, and the Dodgers do get some pitching prospects from the Padres, don't be surprised if before long, those same prospects are flipped to the Phillies for Hamels.
  6. The Fallout from Dodger's Day:
  7. Yeah I dislike this new deal very much. Just because it started off great, and it's Friedman, I don't wanna discount that. Similar to how the Wells deal started off tremendous and winded up being just decent after the bad Napoli flip for Francisco, I think this deal was godlike when it started off, but Heaney for Kendrick is a questionable move. Still an excellent trade with all said and done, because Kendrick for Gordon straight up is a great upgrade, and everything else thrown in is gravy, but it would have been a lot better if they held onto Heaney, at least in my opinion.
  8. This is already a hilarious trade for the Marlins, and if Haren retires now, it becomes a complete joke.
  9. Doesn't surprise me. Cubs have a f***ing insane contingent of internet fans. Back in PSD's heyday when it was probably the most active sports forum in the world, Cubs board destroyed even Yankees and Red Sox boards in activity. Jays seem to have an immense amount of online fans too. I like this kid. Seems to actually have some legitimate news every now and again, and carries himself a lot more professionally than that chump Cotillol.
  10. Managers are dumn Edit: And to follow up on that, Bud Black is currently on MLB Network, absolutely destroying the Padres leverage as we speak.
  11. Also, saw this yesterday, thought it was funny, forgot to post: Kinda hilarious/f***ed up how that played out. I'd feel pretty bitter if I was an A's fan right now.
  12. AA's having a media conference right now, so I really doubt he's on the other end of this trade. Speaking of...
  13. Giants are out on Lester. Looks like its down to Cubs and Red Sox, barring any last minute "mystery team" shenanigans.
  14. Joe Maddon on his RV: "It's relatively pimp."
  15. After acquiring Montero, the Cubs are looking to deal Castillo.
  16. Hoffman getting his first baseball card:
  17. The hope for a few weeks has been that whenever they got rid of Montero, they'd be a potential suitor for Navarro. I hope that winds up being true. Diamondbacks fit really well as trade partners for the Jays.
  18. Yeah I'm not getting into this. Dead horses.
