  2. People do care. People in this city have been waiting to see playoff baseball for more than two decades, and for the first time they see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. Nobody needs a guy taking a s*** on that experience by saying "I wish another team f***s the Jays chances of getting into the playoffs." That is disruptive, it is trolling, it's extremely irritating and it's completely unnecessary. Being an active contributor has never stopped people from jumping down my throat every single chance they get, and it shouldn't make anyone else exempt from the way common board members are judged either. This elitist mentality that certain board members are much more important than the rest and should therefore be given a free pass to act like dicks is one of the main reasons why this place has seen virtually no growth since its inception.
  3. If we give Buehrle credit for outperforming his FIP throughout his whole career, his RA9-WAR of 61.9 is right on that cusp where you can create an argument for him. Throw in all his insanely impressive intangible qualities and his magnificent defense throughout his career, and I believe that he should get in even if he probably won't. Felix is nearly a lock, and Sabathia and Utley each have a pretty good shot. I think Votto might have the longevity for it; unless he retires early and leaves tens of millions of dollars on the table, the eight remaining years on his contract should take him to his age 40 season.
  4. Unless you're trolling (I really hope you are), you might want to get adblock. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/adblock-plus/cfhdojbkjhnklbpkdaibdccddilifddb
  5. Even if the Jays want to sign Dombrowski, they might not get to. Lots of teams showing interest.

  7. Just for reference, Votto will be 32 years old once this season is over, and the remaining terms on his contract (what an acquiring team would have to pay) will be 199M over 8 years. 2016: $20M | 2017: $22M | 2018: 25M | 2019: 25M | 2020: 25M | 2021: 25M | 2022: 25M | 2023: 25M | 2024: 20M Club Option (7M Buyout)
  8. I never said that though. I've never criticized you or anybody else that roots for other teams, and I'm actually a proponent of trying to attract fans from other teams to grow this place. But Hurl isn't simply a fan of another team; he actively roots against the Blue Jays. He thinks the key to a successful season is for another team to screw up the Jays chances at the playoffs. Anyone that isn't deluded would admit that if that comment was posted by anybody other than "TheHurl", it would be seen as a blatant attempt at trolling, and people would be calling for the guy to get banned. Being interested in another team, cheering them on and wanting them to do well is one thing. Going out of your way to cheer against the team that a community was built to support is nothing but low-tier trolling. Especially when it comes from a moderator of that community.
  9. Last time I posted this, Donaldson, Bautista and Edwin were all in the top 5. f***ing Trout had to go and ruin it. Whatever, with Tulo joining the top 10, I'll take it.
  10. Why are you a member of a Blue Jays forum community?
  11. I think they rule out people based on location. I tried making a new account and used a totally neutral ID with an IP from Austin, TX and they deleted the account immediately.
  12. Yeah, people were being shitheads for no reason. Leave it to King Sherlock to proudly and quickly figure out "sewing" and "Scott Ewing" were probably the same guy. This site has such an unwelcoming and inhospitable environment towards new people most of the time.
  13. This is amazing, great work Scott. I'm glad to see you received a much warmer reception this time. I never understood why people were such dicks to you last time. Thanks for not letting that force you away from here and for sticking around and continuing to share your work with us.

  15. Carrasco is a f***ing monster.

  17. I just realized how ludicrously easy the remainder of the Yankees schedule is. Meanwhile, the Jays last seven games of the season will all be away games, with four at Camden and three at Tropicana. The Jays could defy all odds and manage to catch the Yankees over the next few weeks and still fall short of the division title if they have a poor stretch in that last week of games. This is going to be a marathon.

  19. If it's anybody but Schultz that's sent down for Thole...
  20. Yeah, I posted the article earlier today. Martin's thumb is taking a beating so they're thinking about bringing up Thole to catch Dickey. As much as I don't want to see that dickhead, if there's any risk of injury to Martin, I'll live with it.
  21. What a call by the ump. Not sure why they're wasting their replay here.
  22. lmao, so Martin is making it pretty clear that he doesn't want to catch Dickey anymore.
  23. Estrada for Lind was the only really questionable move made over the offseason, but it's starting to look like a real win-win trade.
