  1. Maybe this will lead to the signing of Drew? Who am I kidding.
  2. You think Gomes looks better than D'Arnaud?
  3. Yan Gomes explains everything that is wrong with this organization. We thought he wasnt even a major league player. Turns out hes a starting catcher.
  4. Does anyone know? I am only 25 so I was very young at that time.
  5. Knowing our luck... it will be a torn hamstring. The life of a Jays fan continues.
  6. Article here: http://starcasm.net/archives/258892 From Article: Lol. He does have a good taste in women though.
  7. Yeah but would you trade him and snider for Grienke though?
  8. Does anyone have any expectations for this bust anymore? He was supposed to be a #1 or #2 for a long time. He had the great minor league results in the Philly organization, he had above average “stuff”, he even had the blood lines as his knuckle balling father won the Cy Young. Yet he hasn’t done much in the majors. He can’t throw strikes to save his life. I remember after recovering from his 2nd Tommy John injury, he had an impressive walk ratio in the minors. What happened when he was called up and entered the game out of the bullpen in September? He walked three straight batters. In today’s spring training game he had 3 walks in 1.2 IP. Thoughts on Kyle Drabek?
  9. Didnt the Raptors exactly have this same problem last year? And Grantland published a huge in depth article about how the Raptors organization has an effective analytics department that coaching ignores.
  10. Has this ever been explained by AA? From the outside looking in it seems like they don’t use anything past average, HRs and RBIs. I thought our franchise was supposed to be modeled using the “Tampa Bay Rays with money” profile.
  11. Its a good thing we called him up in September last year to get his feet wet in the majors. Oh wait.
  12. Dream offseason continues. Link: http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/mlb/418864/blue-jays-unlikely-to-sign-ervin-santana
  13. Let this be a thread for positivity only. Put your rose colored glasses on. What do you like about this team? What is this team good at? I’ll start: We have Jose Reyes.
  14. Assuming no more significant transactions. In my opinion: -Bautista, Reyes, Lawrie and Encarncion have to be healthy all year. -Lawrie has to take a step forward. -Bautista, Reyes and Encarncion need to play as good as they did last year over the span of a full season -Rasmus has to show he is for real -Bullpen has to be above average. -Dickey has to pitch like he did in the 2nd half last year -Marky B needs to pitch like his career avg -Morrow needs to pitch close to how he did two years ago. -Stroman and Hutch need to be league average -Timely injuries to Red Sox, Yankees and Rays. Is this too much to ask for?
  15. I thought Snider was going to be the next big thing. I thought he was a lock to be a 40 home run guy for years. Him and Drabek are my two biggest disappointments. I had high hopes for both of them. I remember when the Royals were asking for both Drabek and Snider in a deal for Grienke and every Jays fans laughed at that offer. So what Jays players have disappointed you the most? Who were you wrong about?
  16. Good thing it fell apart. Dont want that contract.
  17. I've yet to meet a CFL fan who is in their 20s.
  18. Huh? Rogers owns the Jays so "gearing up to put a huge bid on the Jays rights" will do nothing. TSN can hype up the Raptors all they want, Rogers wont care since Rogers and Bell both own 33.3% of the Raptors. It is in the best interest of Rogers for the Raptors to do well and make a lot of money.
  19. So sportsnet (and CBS) bought the rights to the NHL. Sportsnet pretty much gets what TSN has right now in terms of hockey coverage. What does this mean for the Jays? Probably means they will be pushed to the back burner once again on Sportsnet.
  20. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/11/east-notes-blue-jays-nats-betancourt-ruiz.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
  21. From this article: http://www.masslive.com/redsox/index.ssf/2013/08/boston_red_sox_los_angeles_dod.html Hmm interesting. Thoughts?
  22. Did the Yankees seriously not beam a Red Sox hitter in return? Really?
  23. It’s unfair for anyone to criticize the Toronto Jays fans and to say that they should be more like the West Coast Jays fans. We West Coasters only get to see the Jays one series a year, so we have built up excitement. While Toronto based fans can see the Jays 81 times a year. Also, we all have to road trip to Seattle. So most of us are in “party mode” and drunk as hell. Everyone who has ever been on a road trip knows that your vibe on a road trip is a lot different than your vibe on a night out in the city you live in.
  24. Before yesterday's game Janssen, Bhuerle and Cecil all spent a lot of time signing autographs before warm up. Lawrie spent some time too. Me and my friend yelled EMILIO and Bonafacio looked over to us. We both gave him the LoViste sign, he returned it and then threw a ball right to us. Three times throughout the series (all before games), we did the exact same thing with Bonafacio and he returned the favor every time.
