I hate to borrow a Raptors RealGM thread type, but at this point what is Lawrie’s ceiling? We know that he isn’t as bad as he has been this year and we know he isn’t as good as he was the year he got called up. Before he got called up, we all thought he would be a weak defender who is an extra base machine (doubles, triples and some home runs), probably steal 20 stolen bases a year and who will hit some where in the .280 range. Seems like he has been the exact opposite since he has settled in the big leagues. He doesn’t hit for a good average, he cant get the ball in the air (thus no extra base hits), he has been a great defender at third and his stolen base success rate is only 67.4%. Yes, he is only 24 and could still put it all together. But at this point it seems unlikely that he will be the superstar that we all thought he would be.

Judging by his last few tweets, it seems like Doc is getting annoyed by too much attention: "Love all the fan support! Really appreciate the great fans who see u w/ fam and only want to say hi or shake hands!" "Proud of my son! Sports crazy, recognized players w/NBA Pacers at dinner! As we left he ask if he could just shake hands! They did! Classy" "BTW love signing autographs! Signed 500+ for fans last week. Time and place I guess. Can't please everyone. Thx all of you who understand!" I dont blame him.

Gibby has always been a great bullpen management guy. He was fantastic last year in regards to the bullpen.

I saw someone mention the term “Seitzer approach” in the game thread. What exactly is the approach he is teaching? Outside of the Jays trade/free-agent rumors I avoided all the other Jays offseason stories.

I was listening to the game while driving home from work and Siddall seemed better than Jack Morris. What are your thoughts on him? When are we going to get a sabermetrics guy on the radio or television?
