  1. Rangers and Giants as well, they have some some pitching we can use. More than who we could trade with, who would you feel comfortable giving up? I'd be fine with any of the "roster" players we have: - Panik - Drury - Tellez - McKinney - Fisher - Shaw - Gaviglio - McGuire I would also be okay with dangling, - Borucki - Thornton (can't remember if he can be traded or not as he's on the IL) - Gurriel Jr. Just to see what can be out there. On the prospect side of things, - Moreno - Hiraldo Really not much lol. I am big on holding onto all of Pearson, Martin, Groshans, SWR, Monah, Kirk and Martinez.
  2. Over .500 babeee! Time to buy all the pitchers.
  3. Man Shaw is slow. I know he big, but still!
  4. Siddal on the show just now, "No idea what he [Panik] said to Charlie to get the start but go get em kid haha". f*** I love Siddal.
  5. Pretty much this. If you were to tell me that at the start of the season the Jays got Vogelbach to play 1B, after a season which he hit 111 wRC+ and 1.6 WAR, I'd be ecstatic. His 18 games hasn't been so hot but he's had a BABIP of 0.079. Combined that with him walking 17.2% of time and striking out at 20%, I'll say it is bad luck and the Mariners overreacted.
  6. Yeah I was surprised as well. I have been following his stats this season because he always looks horrible at the plate but sure enough, he's hitting it and hitting it hard. After hearing how Jansen projected to be one of the best catchers in the league, Alfrod being a five tool player in CF, and Vladdy pushing JD out, nothing as worked as projected or expected. Now I understand there were a lot of circumstances that were considered as well, especially in JD's case, but I have become jaded. As much as I believe in Groshans and Martin, at this point you should makes changes to fill the position and let the prospects push the player out. I liked the strategy when signing Ryu. Pearson projected to come up this year and be the no. 1, but things aren't going as expected and having Ryu right now absorbs a bulk of risk on the pitching staff. I would love the Jays to get someone like Seager or make a play for Justin Turner this off-season. He wouldn't be a long term commitment, and I think a 3-year deal would be palatable for both sides. He should be good for 1 1/2, maybe 2 of those 3 years and can be pushed into a bench role in the final year. That allows Groshans or Martin to come up around 22/23 and still have an impact role and run with the position by 2024. I don't know if its a focus on improving his launch angle, and it has improved from 16.3 to 21.5 from last year to this, but he isn't hitting the ball hard at all. His EV has come down from last year, and against FB is at 84.5 which is in the lower percentile of the league. He is getting fooled on breaking and offspeed pitches, with a xWOBA of .196 and .157 respectively. He is wiffing on both at a 40% clip as well. He can hit the FB and isn't being fooled by that, but unless he learns how to hit the others with more power and consistency he won't do much. You're right, he is walking enough and has respectable walk numbers even last year, and his framing is good that he should be in the majors. I don't think he should be your no. 1. I am excited to see Kirk for sure and hope he can carry things. I do think the Jays should work on trading McGuire and hope Kirk becomes your no. 1 with Jansen as the no. 2, and fill the backup with stop gaps like who ever we have on the taxi squad.
  7. I disagree that on his indicators don't seem any/much better than last year. He is hitting the ball hard at a significantly higher rate, 57.1% vs 35.5% last year. His exit velocity is also very respectable at 93.1. His launch angle, which he tried to get higher last year and didn't work, is also back down to his career norms, 14.8. So his hitting the ball harder, and from a launch angle perspective which Shaw admits was the problem last year, going back to the same hitter he was before. With all that being said, you are right that he's probably fallen off a cliff. Going off his BABIP, at a career high, he's been pretty lucky. So with his hard hit balls you'd think he'd have respectable offensive numbers but.. he's sitting at a wRC+ of 87. Yikes! As a batter, he's just a modern day Morales at this point. Not to poke fun of Vladdy's weight... but his weight. I can see him injuring himself or just be out of breath and impact his batting. I could be wrong, at this point you could try it but I can see reasons why the team wouldn't. This team needs an overhaul at 1B, 3B, OF and C. I hate to say this, but Danny Jansen might just be a back up catcher at this point.
  8. I too believe BlueRocky... BELIEVE THAT WE'LL GET ROCKEDD FOR ROCKER... YEAHHH
  9. 2.2 IP 7 H 4 ER 4 BB 4 K 80 P Welcome to the big leagues kid
  10. Bo looks more aggressive this year. He didn't swing at a lot of bad pitches last year.
  11. I'd still like the Jays to sell high on McGuire, if they can.
  12. Buck going on a rant to Dan about him using the word "sprint" lol. WTF buck.
  13. 5-6 pages ago: "LOL, CHOI! You suckx" Now: "Touche Choi.. touche".
  14. I got to echo BlueRocky, while things may not have turned out as we wanted this is much more enjoyable than the usual "the jays have 1 hit in 5 innings in the trop so far" that we're use to. Biggo had a good at bat too, laid off some good pitches (not the last one).
  15. Todd.. where ever you are... you're right. Alfrod sukxx. You win.
  16. I agree but I think I trust Fisher's bat more. I'd rather have him out in LF than Alfrod in CF. It's likely observation bias on my part but Fisher has looked more impressive at the plate. I guess the Jay's got to make a decision on one, if not both, of these two eventually and see how they play.
  17. My god Vladdy, save it for the season.
  18. Has Shaw looked impressive in any of the games? I feel like he's hitting a lot of balls on the ground or striking out. Honest question lol
  19. Hey man, plan A of, "starting this season and winning it all" isn't off to a hot start. I am moving onto Plan B: Get Rocked for Rocker!
  20. I just hope the MLB gives up, says Jays don't play and give us the 1st overall pick. Rock bottom for Rocker!
  21. Really happy for the Dodgers. I love it when teams try to push them selves over the top and continue to extend their competitive window. The Dodgers window doesn't look to be closing anytime soon and that is incredible given their most recent runs.
  22. Pearson's tits getting lit. At least Atkins will have a "he's not ready, see game vs Boston" to keep him down for a week and we won't see as much bitching.
  23. I remember all of us, me included, laughing at the thought that he would be a "core" part of our team not too long ago. The media was hyping him up along with Bo/Vlad due to the father connection. Well something clicked around 2017-18 and now he's definitely a stud/"core" part of this team's future.
  24. Vladdy still hitting a lot of balls on the ground. I know, I know... SSS, its just two games, but still!
