  1. I kind of understand the logic. In a 3-0 count one of three things would happen. 1. Varsho takes a walk, and Whit is back at 2nd 2. Varsho hits it and he will score on a single 3. Varsho fouls it and he's back at 2nd It just sucks that Whit mistimed it and got picked off by the pitcher instead. Somewhat logical, poorly executed.
  2. I don't mind getting Jose Berríos. He probably isn't as good as he's shown in his first two Jays game and he's definitely not as bad as he's shown in the last game or so far today. He's a solid pitcher. I also don't mind that Atkins traded prospects like Martin and SWR. At the end of the day not all prospects pan out and they've done their due diligence on them more than anyone. I think Lika said it best, if the Org thought Martin would end up being a Bregman, they wouldn't have traded him. I think this trade just sucks because of the perception that the Jays "overpaid". It is what the market was this year. Some years you get a lot and other years you don't. I wish the package was made for someone better than Jose, even if that meant adding more pieces on top. I don't mind the execution of what was done, I just don't like the result.
  3. Watch the Jays go off everyone's board and pick someone like Gavin Williams.
  4. Where do you get this info from? Who do you follow? I do like to know. I understand that others do not so I don't want to ruin the fun!
  5. You know it true Spank! DON'T FIGHT IT. All bad trolling aside, Bo needs to be better. If its clear to us he chases badly then its clear to him as well. Hopefully he makes adjustments but his recent cold streak is not pretty.
  6. Mark Appel is up there too. Drafted 8th by Pits and then 1st overall by Huston, and never even played a game in the majors and is out of the game.
  7. This is an interesting option. He still hits the ball hard and his Hard% has more or less gone up year-by-year. Defensively he's probably more a 1B than 3B now. I haven't been following him as much but does anyone know why he fell off a cliff after 2017?
  8. So... we're all on the same boat? We expect Atkins to fly out to SD and get Peller drunk so he can swindle him into trading CJ Abrams and Luis Patino for Vladdy? Throw in an Owen Caissie for some good ol canadian boy charm? I am only half joking here, if this team felt comfortable trading Vladdy I would be behind it. The package has to be incredible and not trading a player for the sake of a trade.
  9. No-Hit-Urrero Jr.
  10. I don't know how Font is so disappointing with the stuff he has, but he's so disappointing.
  11. StrikeOut-Urrero-Jr.
  12. Tellez's profile has changed quite a bit from last year. This hot streak may not just be a hot streak.
  13. He was arguably the worst 3B last year and terrible defensively.
  14. Oh he was great. I just like mixing his name with anything. Next time he hits a HR it'll be HomeRun-Urrero-Jr.
  15. Pop-Up-Uerrero Jr.
  16. I mean...that hasn't applied to his base running so far.
  17. If he got a pawn to the other side of the chess board he'd switch it out for another pawn, just to f*** with you.
  18. I always wondered how a guy who put up 6 WAR over 2 years, and coming off a career year got DFA'd. Or waived. Or whatever. Especially by a team like Baltimore that didn't have anyone better. Wonder if the bone headed decision is why? Teams must have some internal metric that values Villar less than what fangraphs/baseball reference does. I am giving him some rope as well, but his perceived value is less than his actual value. Its weird.
  19. I also think it is difficult to develop two catchers in the major leagues at the same time. I don't want to go all O L D - S C H O O L, but most teams tend to have a established catcher / a promising back up or a promising starter / established backup (if I am wrong, someone let me know, I am going off memory here). I think the Jays really didn't know what they had in either, they probably suspected Jansen was better but still with both knocking on the door and the current circumstances they said "f*** it, lets see". It'll be interesting to see how Kirk does now that he's up with the team too. This season certainly isn't boring.
  20. My God. Atkins and Shapiro planning to pull a KC Royals. Somehow sneak into the playoffs, have a frustrating manager and win games with a shutdown bullpen.
  21. We missed the chance to sell high on McGuire this past off-season. Hopefully Texas still wants him for something this offseason.
