You should be absolutely shocked if he goes out and gets someone like Price or Greinke. Shapiro knows those are bad contracts waiting to happen. I think he'll target someone like Iwakuma or Lackey who you could identify as "supplement" pieces. Not someone you are going to pay multiple years over yet able to come in and provide you wins. I am hoping for Iwakuma! I could also be completely off. But a man can dream dammit. I understand Samardzija, you can argue/make a case for Kennedy too, but why Fister?

I remember hearing a interview after he came back from Pete Walker saying how encouraged they were with the groundballs Stroman was getting and its not all about strikeouts. I don't know know if its a philosophical thing where they feel GB pitchers are better in the RC. As far as his K/9, meh not to concerned from a 27 IP sample size. He still has his great mix of pitches so the K's will come soon again me thinks. -
Needs to improve that air time tho. Bat almost instantly dropped to the ground.

You know what I am really looking forward to? Aaron F'ing Sanchez being traded. Gawd Lawd, at last! Sanchez still likely has some value to other teams and MS seems like the type of guy that will trade a replacement level player for a non-replacement level talent.

Not sure if this point was made or not, but starting January, if Gibby is not fired than he gets paid for the following year. So as he wasn't fired in Jan 2015, he is going to get paid for 2016. Now if you don't fire him before Jan 2016 then you will pay him for 2017. I am sure Rogers would like MS to make up his mind so they don't pay someone to do nothing for a year. If they already have doubts about him they may opt to just let him go before his contract renews for another year.
