  1. To be fair, the Padres got a great haul for Kimbrel and did not budge on lower offers (think NYY made one at the trade deadline which they passed on and got a better deal this offseason). I don't think position players interest them as much as prospects/young controllable assets do currently. Given the market value for pitchers right now I am sure they feel they can get better offers and will likely get it.
  2. Cashner may be moved. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/12/padres-notes-ross-cashner-middlebrooks.html Would love him in this rotation! Revere for Cashner? Get er done MS/RA/TL. Get. ER. DONE!! (.. i honestly have no idea what it'll cost)
  3. All kidding aside, have been busy bossman. Work has gotten cray. I'll work on something for Happ now and post it for review here tonight, before I go to bed. I have no idea where I put that Osuna article. :S E: Update - sent GD and iWOK to proof read and provide feedback first.
  4. http://i.imgur.com/oTmYsQf.gif Went a little dark there buddy.
  5. Its the Dodgers, they've set expectations they're after anyone good cause their payroll has no limit. If they had Grenkie signed for another year, there'd be stories/reports of them signing a 3rd ace like Cueto or Price behind them. Easy click-bait for a large fan base.
  6. I am curious now to where Cueto will go. I cannot see the Dodgers invest big on that arm, they already have enough pitchers with concerns. Cannot think of many teams in the market willing to spend 140+ M on him. I hope martin can call AJ Burnett and woo him into signing a 1 year contract with the Jays. Move Dickey to some team like Texas after. // offseason dreaming //
  7. No man, BTS is right. Stro for Cy 2016! #RepressMemoryOfHavingSyndergaard
  8. I'd still like the Jays to push for Tyler Flowers. Its great Thole can catch Dickey but if anything happened to Martin its a little redonk placing expectations that he can catch the entire staff. Flowers has shown he is a capable starting catcher and was the 2nd-3rd best pitch framer in the league last year. He isn't a league average hitter by any means, never has been, but this team offense can handle another Goins-like bat in the lineup. Thole can't even say he is as good or better hitter than Goins lol.
  9. Poor guy. Pretty nervous. Can't wait till the team is in the playoffs and Bob is on his nutz
  10. But.. Wouldn't that also qualify for the Martin signing? He just got a better catcher. Lol. What do you define as a analytical trade or signing? Perhaps we have some confusion in our definitions.
  11. Not sure if sarcasm or if you misunderstood what I was trying to say. Likely the later as I didn't really say much haha. Tulo is being paid more than Reyes and from face value, it looks like a terrible move for the Jays taking on a larger and longer contract while giving up two prospects, one of which was ranked top 100. However, Tulo throughout the rest of his contract projects to provides a surplus value of 50M where Reyes projects to provides -20M. AA pretty much got a projected 70M in surplus value in the trade. I doubt AA gave much thought to this on the Marlins and Dickey trade. Maybe I am giving him too much credit, maybe it was just as simple as "Tulo? He available. Get err done!"
  12. Likely will. I can imagine a team like Baltimore overpaying for him, even with the trade of Trumbo. Hopefully there are dumb enough to financially cap themselves!
  13. You could argue the Tulo trade was a fairly analytical move.
  14. Fair enough. Either way, to your point, yeah not many teams that would be better than the Indians. haha
  15. That is fair. I am guessing you don't buy into the Mets prospect depth vs the Indians? Its prospects so by this time next year the organizational depth could swap depending on performance but the Mets do have a deeper pool for now.
  16. Not in any order, Dodgers Cardinals Cubs Mets Astros And maybe the Pirates. The Indians would certainly be challenging top 5 but would have a few teams ahead of them. Why?
  17. I actually don't mind Morosi. He isn't as great as Rosenthal and his trade suggestions are dumn but overall he isn't the worst guy they bring in to talk about baseball. Just your average click bait journalist who has some breaking news and mostly level headed answers.
  18. Boom. FTFY.
  19. This thread needed this!!
  20. http://image.cleveland.com/home/cleve-media/width620/img/tribe_impact/photo/19299973-mmmain.jpg Kinda see bald spots forming, clearly past his prime. Jays are investing late in this, clearly.
  21. Why?
  22. Figure this deserves its own thread. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/12/blue-jays-hire-ross-atkins-gm-indians.html http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/blue-jays-name-ross-atkins-as-teams-new-general-manager/
  23. A lot of Indian fans were also happy when Shapiro was gone. Besides, considering Atkins role was "Vice President of Player Personnel" I highly doubt fans have enough insight to what he does to really bitch about his role/position.
