  1. Jackson Chourio is gonna be a superstar.
  2. Nightmare start for Severino and the Mets, although they're lucky to only be down 2.
  3. The Mets need to give up on Mark Vientos at 3B. The bat is legit, make the kid into a full time 1B. They can save some money on Pete Alonso who's a FA and replace him at a fraction of the cost. Brewers starting out strong.
  4. Also, damn the Tigers just kept putting in fireballer after fireballer today. Skubal to Vest to Foley to Brieske, every guy was sitting high 90s and touching 100. You could argue these last 3 were a bit too similar to one another, perhaps why the Astros starting stringing together some hits. No easy to hit though.
  5. Holy f***, line drive rocket right at the first baseman. s*** luck for the Astros, big time luck and massive win for the Tigers who don't have home field advantage.
  6. He had a bit of a scare in the 6th, potentially pulled something, trainers came out. I think it was likely preventative so he didn't tweak it further. Didn't seem like an arm issue, potentially back or leg related? I bet that's why he got pulled when he did.
  7. He has no knees.
  8. Ragans and Skubal both electric today.
  9. Potentially bold move by the Astros to use Hader down 3. Especially in a non-elimination game where you might want to use him in high leverage in the two following outings.
  10. Ronald Acuna's little brother Luisangel has the exact same swing as his older bro. It's uncanny, and kind of awesome to see.
  11. "Grant Holmes had no idea he was starting this game until the conclusion of Game 1" What? Do the Braves even want to make the postseason?
  12. If you're the Mets front office you're hoping Lucchesi makes it through 6-7, getting absolutely shelled, so they can put in Eddy Alvarez or some s*** to clean up the last couple of innings.
  13. Apparently Chris Sale has been scratched with back spasms for game 2. Unclear if they're just doing this to save face and have him ready for Game 1 of the Wild Card series, but won't face backlash if they lose and questions are raised on why he wasn't put in.
  14. 100%, they need to toss out their version of Ryan Yarbrough for 8 innings and some other scrub should throw the last, ideally they're losing big so they can just put their worst position player on the mound. Lindor, Nimmo, Iglesias? should all be sitting. None of their good players or banged up good players. If they win they win, but it means nothing to them.
  15. Incredible game.
  16. Edwin Diaz just casually letting the tying run walk to second base. Bold strategy.
  17. Inexcusable to put Eli White on base twice in a game-clinching scenario. In the 8th and 9th innings!
  18. They hated him because he was right.
  19. HOLY f*** WHAT A GAME Lindoooooooooooor
  20. Shouldn't be lost in the madness, is Ozzie Albies having maybe the best game of his life against RHP, two weeks after coming off the IL, still banged up, and becoming a full time righty hitter for the first time as a pro.
  21. The numbers would say so! Maybe he's such a jock that he wants the nerds to look stupid for believing he's the right guy to put into ultra high leverage situations because of made up things like Whiff Rate, K%, xFIP?, Extension??? He's a made up good player. He sucks.
  22. Edwin Diaz might be the most hated good reliever of all time. The guy just has a knack for blowing up at the absolute worst time.
  23. lolMets
  24. Edwin Diaz is melting down. This would be the most Mets outcome ever.
  25. Cover the f***ing base Diaz.
