Peralta didn't deserve to have allowed a run there since he basically made the catch, so good for him to stay with the play.
Edit: I wonder if the ball actually hit the grass before he even dropped it? The Dodgers might have reviewed that one if it was called a catch. Weird play.
It's at the umpires' discretion to decide where to place the runner, sometimes when the ball bounces over the fence they also award runners third base, it's just very common to give them a double.
