  1. That's one of the more obvious check swing strikes you'll ever see. Not sure what the ump was seeing there.
  2. He only came back at the end of May, so really only been pitching for a month this season. If he had been healthy since the start of the season he would be getting talked about plenty. His health track record definitely needs to improve if he's to start getting real hype behind him.
  3. Unlike Roden, Wagner has been rather pedestrian at AAA. Can't see him playing much except maybe spelling Vladdy at 1B while his forearm injury heals, and even then the team has preferred putting Ernie out there given how excellent he's looked this season.
  4. Why is Bo making that catch lol. Maybe the worst person to go for it of the group, brutal angle for him. Oh well, good W. Always love a beat down of the Sox, in Fenway no less.
  5. He's been bad at the plate no doubt, but there's also no question that he's suffering from some pretty brutal batted ball luck. He has a .212 BABIP and underperforming his xwOBA by 60 points. For reference, Varsho and Bichette have wOBAs of .320 and .322 respectively, which correspond to wRC+ of 107 and 109. Gimenez's xwOBA is .317, he would probably be close to Ernie Clement's value if he wasn't having brutal luck.
  6. I mean with Green on the mound you can't fully coast to the victory lol. If he starts getting hit around you need your fireman to put a stop to it.
  7. Green's stuff seeing a slight uptick in velo? Fastball touching 97 more often than I remember previously. Basically sitting 96.
  8. lol Kirk Straw absolutely hammered that. Gone in 23 ballparks, unlucky for him.
  9. My god, Cleveland have been booting the ball around all day. Huge add-on runs by none other than our All-Star catcher. Nothing like a 3-run single (2 RBI + error surely).
  10. Outstanding bounce back start for Gausman. Fastball was crisp, splitter played well and kept them off balance, plenty of whiffs, command was sharp.
  11. Heineman might have just pulled his groin on that swing.
  12. Excellent inning from Gausman after getting the lead. Just what the doctor ordered.
  13. Barger is getting a steady diet of breaking balls, not a single fastball being thrown his way. Granted, Bibee has been hitting his spots with them this AB.
  14. Vlad needs to channel that anger Jose Bautista style. Make them pay the next time up big man.
  15. lol wtf was Bo Naylor doing on that play? Just totally gave up on the play while the whole thing was unfolding.
  16. Incredible AB from Lukes, battled back from an 0-2 hole to 3-2 and then just kept battling until he got a good pitch to drive.
  17. Awful AB from Bo there, tried to inside out some fastballs and then chases on the breaking ball outside.
  18. Probably would give Little a shout out on the RP side of things. To me it's gotta be Kirk, that kind of excellence on both sides of the plate (literally and figuratively) has been a driving force on the team. Catchers as a whole with Heineman leveraging his BABIP luck and excellent defense have been providing legitimately MVP level production. Ernie a close second with his overall contribution. Slight edge goes to Kirk for doing it as a catcher.
  19. More of those swings Vlad. Good pitcher, took some tough pitches and punished a mistake pitch.
  20. Yes, I’m sure he was reminded of Gimenez’s ineptitude while watching him play defense of all things.
  21. Industry valuations might still have Mayer ahead, especially due to him being a SS, but wouldn't blame you for preferring Smith.
  22. Turnbull is absolutely gas canning here, you hate to see it.
  23. Might as well give Clase these kind of games to develop. We can afford the slight WAR hit, if any tbh, at the trade off of seeing if there’s anything there.
  24. Clase should have finished that play. Not routine but definitely playable.
