  1. It’s only really a must win to secure the best record in the AL.
  2. They have 7 hits lol, it’s just been a matter of bad luck/sequencing. Not like they’re rolling over against Kershaw, mostly good ABs.
  3. If John Olerud started his career in 2010 he would be Joey Votto lite. Cito was platooning him while he was consistently running OBPs near .400 lol. He probably gets a little more playing time and ends his career above 60 fWAR cruising to a Hall of Fame selection with us!
  4. Hard to mention Bautista and Donaldson without also bringing up Edwin Encarnacion. Just as capable a hitter as them, and just a wonderfully loveable guy all around. Those 3 guys made up the most formidable heart of the lineup in team history, IMO.
  5. This has been making the rounds a lot, but while the original matchup is indeed very cool, this is not the second time they’ve ever faced off in the regular season. https://www.mlb.com/amp/news/clayton-kershaw-and-max-scherzer-historic-pitching-matchup.html
  6. Bringing in Barger for the platoon advantage on an 8-1 game against the Rockies certainly seems like major overkill.
  7. People really doubted Ty France in Coors lmao.
  8. That's a former number one overall pick to you sir.
  9. Y'all were really hating on my guy Ty France who is SOLIDIFYING the middle of the order today.
  10. Gausman spamming the slider against righties. I get mixing it up but I'd probably rather see him get beat on his two best pitches with men on.
  11. France putting up an absolute clinic in reaching base.
  12. Crushed, just like that it goes from a quick inning to a quick 3 runs.
  13. Vetrin presents from France to take that HBP with minimal damage.
  14. Schneider demolished that, just missed a leadoff bomb. Probably makes it to third if he tries it but no need to take the risk that early in the contest. Edit: apparently that's gone in 29/30 parks lol. Although with the elevation in Coors I'm sure the ball doesn't carry as well everywhere else, so taking that with a grain of salt.
  15. And then you're gonna get s*** on by Ernie, Springer and Davis Schneider. Varsho if healthy is starting every game in the playoffs, the defense is too good and he can run into one against a lefty. Add Springer and Kirk into this lineup and it looks much better already.
  16. Franchise highest win totals since '92-93: 2015 - 93 2022 - 92 2021 - 91 2023 / 2016 - 89 1998 - 88 2006 - 87 Projected win totals in 2025: 92. Ross Atkins and Mark Shapiro will have overseen 3 and a potential 4 out of the best years the franchise has seen since its best years lol. "Beta Ross" they say, pfft.
  17. Exactly what I was thinking. Go 6 deep and give the older dudes some extra rest, drop one come the playoffs, or like move Berrios into a bulk role.
  18. Ross Atkins should be tested for PEDs for getting Braydon Fisher in return for the DFA worthy Cavan Biggio.
  19. Just missed getting through the 6th unscathed. Gutsy performance as is the norm with any Bassitt start.
  20. Not that Kirk needs any more love, but he quietly has two batted balls at 104 and 105 mph EV today. Drilling the ball but nothing to show for it thus far.
  21. Barger has been incredible man. What a huge success story.
  22. Gritty 5 innings from Bassitt, not sure if there’s a chance we squeeze a 6th out of him, or if we even should.
  23. For an injury prone young SP, this is actually a pretty surprising and encouraging fact. For comparison's sake, Ricky Tiedemann has never pitched more than 5 IP in his entire pro career. Already this season, Rojas just went 5 IP his last start. So at least he's not being fully babied, or they don't believe he needs to be.
  24. The bullpen was excellent today. Another win in an Eric Lauer start.
  25. You hate ABs like this if you're a pitcher. Pesky hitting from Toro.
