  1. I mean, we've reached a point where Bowden Francis might be the worst active SP in baseball. Like, the bullpen contingency of Lauer/Schultz/anyone is literally maybe 1-2 wins better on the basis of not actively hurting the team. Scherzer's health can't be trusted at all, and you can always piggyback Lauer with Civale, or have a 6-man rotation to give the old guys some extra rest in between starts which they benefit from.
  2. Can't just say that without dropping some links.
  3. That last pitch from Yariel was nasty, 99 with a ton of armside run.
  4. I think he tried to push for another basehit there. Just a poor bunt.
  5. Turnbull looking like a total crafty vet out there. Saving his best bullets for the bigs like any true vet would.
  6. Not a chance Ernie was out there, but no definitive angle to prove it otherwise.
  7. Common Fisher dominance. Has to be available for a second inning.
  8. Nifty little play from Schneider there, shades of our other platinum glove 2B.
  9. Silly mistake from Lauer, but we can get that run back.
  10. The offense is much more fluid without the worst hitter on the team on it, you don't say lol. As long as he comes back healthy Santander will still be a big part of this lineup, his '22-'24 seasons as a switch hitter will be a godsend to the lineup once he finally gets it going.
  11. Talk about stacking the righties against Liberatore. Makes sense, as expected he's much worse against the opposite handedness, and it helps that two of the guys are switch hitters to not hurt the late game pinch hitting opportunities. Ernie is 100% being PH for Barger if the need arises, Robertson might see a shot for either Schneider or Straw.
  12. Oh okay, yeah they were definitely teammates in at least '23 and '24, and obviously recently with Roden being demoted to AAA. Kind of a dumb point to make on my part since they obviously know each from professional ball.
  13. Ah cool, I didn't want to make that assumption since they were 3 draft classes apart but figured there was a chance.
  14. Happy for Will Robertson. Same college and similar signing bonus as Alan Roden, wonder if they know each other in some capacity. Always nice to see a guy that's been grinding through the minors get a well deserved shot. Guys like this can sometimes come up and have a small run of success before the league catches up to them. The power is very legit, I could see him start his career on a heater before inevitably cooling off, and of course would be nice if he was a legit strong side platoon bat, something like a Matt Adams type who can somewhat play the outfield.
  15. In terms of delivery alone, to me he looks like Mike Fiers with heat.
  16. Bassitt is quite a bit better than Mikolas. Anything could happen of course, but the odds are definitely in our favour for this game.
  17. I honestly think that pitch framing will still be a skill with measurable impact post ABS if there's only two allowed challenges per game. The impact of the most impactful frames will likely go down, but it'll go both ways as catchers like Kirk with great strikezone awareness can overturn 50/50 calls in key spots.
  18. Fastball was electric for Hoffman tonight.
  19. John Schneider will put in Mason Fluharty in the highest possible leverage to begin his career and now that he's an established stud he also pitches blowout games, lol. Sure would be great to use our worst arms or those needing work like Swanson instead.
  20. Springer being a bro and getting Kirky an RBI when it wasn't necessary at all.
  21. Schneider is gonna read this message and personally make sure to use at least 3 relievers from here on out.
  22. People said: "it would be nice if Barger and Ernie could combine into one player" so Ross Atkins spoke and both of them became elite on both sides of the ball.
  23. Ross Atkins just casually pulled the best 3B tandem in the majors making league minimum, with 90% of baseball fans not knowing who either player is.
  24. Embarrassing for Kepler to let the SS take that ball.
