  1. In the Cooper deal they also gave away Caleb Smith who has turned out to be quite a capable starter. They were part of the three team Steven Souza Jr. deal between the Rays and D-Backs. They acquired Brandon Drury and gave up Nick Solak and Taylor Widener so that was just a truly awful deal for the Yankees, even if they did acquire half a season of JA Happ out of it. They also traded away Sonny Gray for little and he's doing very well in the NL Central. That's not to say any of those players are stars, but the Yankees aren't infallible. They have a ton of resources and they make a lot of good moves but Cashman isn't the f***ing boogeyman.
  2. Our luck this season in fully display here.
  3. My pitching tonight: 34.1 IP, 2 W (should have been 3, thanks Blue Jays), 41 K, 2.60 ERA, 8.20 K/BB. I'm still losing by a fair amount.
  4. That sucks, Romano still did a great job.
  5. Romano just threw the exact same pitch twice, once it was called a strike and the other was called a ball. Okay.
  6. Holy f*** what a horrendous call. The ump was right in front of it!
  7. Romano has been lights out from the bullpen.
  8. ******** park strikes again.
  9. What the f*** Sogard? Also really surprised Drury made it to third standing up without a throw, what was JBJ doing?
  10. Nah no way, fourth time through the order facing the very best hitters while his pitch count is high. Let him leave on a high note, if the bullpen blows it for him so be it, better them than him and shattering his confidence after a truly outstanding start.
  11. Yes? Teoscar was basically there but had to pull up because of that stupid trapezoid fence in the middle of the field.
  12. Ugh what a disgusting hit, now we're even Boston.
  13. Can't entirely blame Teoscar there although obviously he played that horribly, it's just such a dump of a park.
  14. That was a filthy backdoor slider. The spin rate is real.
  15. Wow Teoscar showing some serious wheels and good IQ on that play.
  16. Can we get politics out of the basketball thread FFS. It's one thing to complain that there are suits and politicians in the parade, but there's another thread for this other s***.
  17. Thornton has now had back to back excellent starts against the Astros and Red Sox. Hell of a job by the rookie.
  18. Wow damn that's a hell of a performance from the bench for McKinney!
  19. A bit awkward but nice job McKinney.
  20. Yeah I don't fully get it tbh. I thought my offense was gonna be around average and my pitching inconsistent but could get a good week every now and then. I've been quick on the trigger from the waiver pile too, found a couple of hidden gems and still nothing.
  21. Hansel Robles looks downright filthy. But he's Hansel Robles so he'll probably randomly have a 6+ ERA in two months.
  22. The catcher did a great job but Biggio really got the screw job in that AB.
  23. I'll have you know, I am the rightful owner of the 19th spot in the PRs. It's just been bad luck!
  24. His slider is a joke, these hitters don't stand a chance.
  25. My god he just destroyed him.
